Collector's edition box in bad shape

I’m not a big fan of the “box in box” method of many on line retailers, as most packaging material goes to trash, after unboxing the desired possessions. But I don’t think I need to explain that the Warcraft Collector’s edition boxes are somewhat different. I buy the whole stuff partly for the box.

This is why it is it difficult to understand why Blizzard thought that a small bubble wrap would be enough to protect it through Europe. It is not so destroyed, to send it back immediately, but enough to bother you displayed in a collection.

In what condition did others receive the box?

Blizz decided to sell it by Gear store only. If I would choose, I could buy it from a local retailer. Then it’s my own problem to beat my seller for what I get or how I get it. Now I can’t choose, I need to somehow make an international claim, for a few dents and scratches.

I want to see if it is a personal problem, or other people have the same problem. Forums are partly for this purpose. If no one have similar problems, and no one interested, the topic closes itself.

Good. Your Shipping Company is 100% responsible for your problem. If you want to solve your problem, it is better you contact your Shipping Company you paid for the service to you.

Big tear in a corner lid. Sending it back and ‘demand’ a replacement. Damage was definitly done on their end during assembly. Could not have happened during transport.

To me, this is unacceptable. Specially when you pay a lot for it.

Haven’t opened anything else, nor redeemed the code. In case the Gear Store becomes troublesome.

Not My shipping company, Blizzard choose them, and the packing material was minimal. When I order something from the same city, the packing is far better.

They ship statues intercontinentally for god’s sake…

Wrong, the Gear Store is. They packed it inadequately. And plastic bags are never a good idea to pack something like this. Use boxes with padding as a buffer.

Then contact the gear store and request a replacement.

Way ahead of you.

Yours too.

That forum bit has nothing to do with the Gear Store.

This was actually my point. Thanks for confirming it first-hand.

Your transmog looks great. Stealing it. :star_struck:

If the damage is unacceptable to you, I would absolutely get in touch with them

Mine hasn’t arrived yet, and I haven’t gotten any notification of it being sent either.

Maybe they can send you the part of the box that’s been damaged since you can provide photo evidence.

Reddit posts about this are starting to appear now. It is looking to be a big issue now that people are receiving damaged goods, because the Gearstore (EU and US) are skimping on packing material. Supposedly to be more environmentally aware. Are all those returns then supposed to be good for the environment as well?

Fun story: Recently I ordered a special edition version of a Nintendo Switch game on the My Nintendo Store. The amount of packing material they used was absolutely insane. Ghoulish overkill. But hey, got the job done.

I ordered one of the NS SNES controllers last year. Not only was it very securely packaged, it was a signed delivery at my door and that never happens (probably especially since I live on the third floor) no matter who/where I order from. So yeah, got good experience with Nintendo as well.
