Wonder how m+, raids and pvp gonna be affected by this.
Gonna be some funny threads made from this for sure.

Dark times ahead no doubt.
I’m dreading the loss of the various addons I use in Raid and Mythic plus
good, now lets see the “im good youre bad cause you didnt do what that addon say” players geting same results now, when you actualy need to learn those things and pay atention to them
I play the game “mostly” on visuals. This change won’t effect me unless they don’t give a bigger indicator when you have a debuff or something on you, because i exclusvly play melee classes and some markers you dont notice it’s on you until its too late.
If they don’t reduce the difficult of content by a lot, it will be a mess.
Even if WA and all stuff some people can’t even finish HC and a +10 imagine without them.
Good, it is one of the best and most important changes for wow.
Players have been advocating it for years. And it is a step to the right direction.
But it is not enough yet. This should not only apply to combat addons, but eventually to all addons. There should be no exception.
Let’s be honest, wow interface it’s ugly af.
It gives 0 information for healing and much less for PVP.
If they want to remove all addons they better make a decent UI first.
would be funny if they did this and everyone quit. xD
No, current addons are wow’s cancer. It is THE biggest problem of the game.
It affects almost every part of the game: encounter design, instance difficulty, UI improvement, lags and bugs. etc.
The sooner they are removed, the better wow will be.
Even though Blizzard only admits to touch “combat addons” at the moment, it will eventually apply to all addons.
No addons will be allowed, when the basic functions are integrated into default UI and settings one day.

it’s kind of funny to me that you expect Blizzard to be able to maintain this.
At least atm if an addon breaks it’s usually fixed within the hour, you expect the same thing from Blizzard? the same company that still hasn’t been able to fix their newest shiny thing (one button rotation) for certain classes after what? 2 months?
unless they massively turn down the difficulty of the game all this change is doing is making an already stressful game (suppose to be fun and relaxing, it’s a game) into something people will actively just go ''You know what? i cba anymore, i’m gonna play another mmo instead)
That is, in the most literal sense, what they’re doing. They’re updating their UI to fill the role that these third party addons are doing because there’s a clearly obvious demand by the playerbase to have this functionality.
Tbh i dont think ui and roleplay addons need to be removed.
However tsm could be also be nice to gone.
They are but I doubt the will have it done before pre-patch, when they pretend to nuke all.

Of course they will do that after banning addons, either by reducing encounter difficulty/complexity or by adding their own version of DBM/timer/UI/indicator, etc.
Let us see how this turns out, but for now it looks like a W.
Healing changes sound promising too and might bring more healers in the end.

If you say so, if Blizzard is known for anything it’s doing the opposite of what they should be doing.
Flashback to when Blizzard said they would be reducing incoming damage spikes and then making more 1 shot damage spikes in 1 expansion then the previous 2 combined. xD

Yes, and it should be applied to all addons in the future, not just combat addons.
Blizzard should do its own job, instead of outsourcing it to 3rd party addons.
Banning Combat Addons without providing a solid in house alternative, OR solid proof that players will no longer need them (as in like theoretically announcing in beta “we are banning addons now cuz as you can see on our solid beta progress you dont need them anymore”) is a absolute dogshiete move.
Im not gonna lie about it, i rely a lot on the addon hekili (a rotation helper).
not everbody is able to do the brain dances within a split second in a raid to perform well, even more so with the artificial complexity introduced on some classes.
Even ret who is generally said to be THE easiest class to play has a lot going on.
Scenario in raid a procc happens - what i need to check within a split second without addons:
as you can see ret is NOT that simple if you personally have the drive to get the most out of it. but nobody here can with good conscience say that every player is able to do those mental gymnastics within a split second
And with blizzards awful track record of broken promises, i have zero faith in them, that they manage to deliver a in-house solution to this problem, nor be able to streamline and simplify classes well enough so that this long list i just wrote up will be shortened to a reasonable amount.
Not to mention the unhealthy impact this will have on the players mental health inside the overall toxic raid and m+ community.
(seriously asking the man whos responsible for most of the general player toxicity due to his design philosophy “how is your fight going against the toxicity” was insane and made me laugh)
OR solid proof that players will no longer need them
