Community needs to WAKE UP

i mean login queues, layering, SPELL BATCHING, open world lags, bots, dead servers cuz of bli$$ decisions, TOTAL neglect of paying customers and im sure we could name a few more (that are and that WILL come lol) YET i only read about “horde caused that”, “alliance did that”, “git gud”, “pvp working as intended”, “join a premade” and all this random BS…

As long as we’re to busy fighting between ourselves on small matters, we will never be taken serious with the BIG ISSUES i.e. Classic team being undermanned and underrepresented, them having no clue/no care/no saying (u chose) about the decisions they bring into the game and MOST IMPORTANT, them not being in touch with “the feel” of the community…

Exactly !!

Don’t forget, the private servers that shut down in order to support Blizzard had a grasp of this

Login queues and layering they were clearly right about, there are even deadservers, which would have been far more rampant if not for layering.

Layering is quite subjective, but it is part of the 2006 gameplay.

Faction balance has always been an issue, blizzard following nochanges and not preventing it has clearly lead to a lot of issues, though people would still be whining had they made such major changes needed.

If not for cross realm bgs they would have been quite spot on with the feel for the community, basically hosting batched private server experiences with a monthly fee.

Blizzard clearly didn’t know how to design a 2020 MMO back in 2004.

How can be there dead servers werent words of classic fans everyone will playt it !

DIdn people recently complained about too many people ?

I find it funny

So you say people you cant play with you friends or this faction for ??? reason??.

You would have seen 1 av per day with how one sided are most of pvp servers xD

Most of those issues are the players’ fault. I cant speak about spell batching because I don’t even know what that is.

agree with OP although login ques may rather be a good thing.

its irrelevent whether people would whine.

how many would quit because "omg blizz used naughty #changes to make the factions more balanced and the general experience more engaging and vanilla-like, literally unplayable"?

with this said im not sure blizz are able to make necessary good decisions.

Because The community does not exist. There are more communities, and while we almost all agree that ActiBlizz flunked big time, we do not agree on for instance server size. Some say all not monster-servers are dead (mostly PvPers). Some say My realm is too full (mostly Rpers and PvEers). Also ActiBlizz’s policy on servers aggravated this by opening too few too slow and overall not enough non-PvP servers.
So yes; you can have people whining about dead servers and overpopulation at the same time - and both being right.

PS I wholly support Keek, we got to shoot at :arrow_right: ActiBlizz :arrow_left: :bow_and_arrow: not the other faction, rankers, casuals, gamer-dads, PvPers or RPers etc.

It’s not related to “no changes”. Blizzard simply does not want to apply limitations on paid transfers because that is a limitation on an income stream. It’s a pure long vs short term view on the game.

From a financial standpoint it is better to get more money now than prolong the game life (i.e. active support) and just maybe make more money in the long run. This is the trend with all big publishers because it’s far less risky to: release, monetize as aggressively as the game allows, put on minimal budged, repeat with the next project (in the case of WoW Classic that “repeat” will be in the form of BC Classic).

The private server community which makes up most of the classic community would’t mind as they are used to changes. The 2005 bots would probably be the ones crying.

Since we all know everybody who ever played Private didn’t touch Vanilla and vise versa …

#MyWorldIsBlackAndWhite

Faction balance is not the fault of the players. If you PvE Horde is objectively more fun due to Windfury and Warchief’s Blessing. You also don’t have to choose between the horde pvp race(orc) and the horde melee pve race (orc), whereas alliance have to choose between human(pve) and gnome(pvp). There are also noticable advantages for horde in terms of transport throughout the world. Server faction statistics were not exactly available when you mouseover in the realmlist.

Cross realm bgs and server sizes are not players fault either.

Batching is to process (in this case spells) that happened over a certain time period. Classic servers store everything that happens within a 400ms window then processes it after the batch window and the cycles continues. This makes the game feel unresponsive but it does allow for mechanics like two people ccing eachother and exploits like reckoning and forced enrage.

I did not say that, but the 2005 bots tend to not have touched private servers.

Alliance may not have Warchief’s Blessing, but we have Blessing of Kings, and there’s no equivalent buff in the Horde site. Also, if you base all your character choice based on racials and numbers, ok, do it, but don’t complain that your faction is overpopulated.

Besides, I’ve seen lots of times the “it’s Blizzard’s responsability” argument, but, what solutions would you suggest? Faction-specific character creation locks? Yeah, screw people who want to play with their friends and their favourite race; it’s also a change, and people wanted #nochanges. Faction-specific login times? Once again, screw people who just choose their favourite race; and nothing like that existed in vanilla, so #nochanges. Re-adjusting racials by nerfing some or buffing others? Remember, #nochanges.
