Hello Community & Developers!

I would like to suggest an idea to !add polls in forums, or you can perform a poll on same hot subjects every week, done by Blizzard towards the WoW-Vanilla Community.

it can appear like an additional topic on Battlenet Launcher so everyone playing WoW Classic can participate.

It would be a good feedback and ideas for things that people would like to have implemented, fixed etc. I guess it would be fair to establish a connection with the community and everyone can have a vote.

My personal question, that have been mentioned before is: Graphics.
Since Reforge of Classic will be impossible and I wont even dare to ask for that, at least using the current model database and change appearance of all existing game models in Vanilla.

!Some people suggested a toggle on and off. That would be awesome for those who would like to play with classic graphics.

!We noticed that there are already model changes and effects in environment which is amazing! And I am so glad and excited to see them.

Also, another dream in the wish-list is reworking the vanilla sets, just improving quality, nothing else, they are perfect as they are. Player models, mounts etc.

!For me there is no real point to use old graphics, since WoW is about gameplay mechanics, community, etc. this are the things that held the spirit of the game.

Not the graphics themselves. Back in the day WoW was choppy, as i had a junk machine to play on. However now I have a new setup from 2018 and would like to enjoy my game experience at maximum. There is nothing wrong with squared squirrels, but it’s a time for refresher in my opinion.

When you announced Reforged WC, i don’t think there were people complaining about it, it’s their choice to play it, currently WC community is not large at all. I don’t think anyone would have complained about Reforging Classic, that would be “scandalous” said in a good way as a friend likes to say!!!

Also adding additional choice for music and zones in the loop will be great. !So many ideas, that can be made to be a persons choice. After all we are here to entertain ourselves and enjoy it.

Thank you for making Vanilla servers!! It feels like a big birthday present!

For feedback it can be good.
But just for that.
It should never be the deciding factor to implement (or not implenent) things.

forum is not a good representation of player base. most people that don’t have problem with game don’t even bother to enter forum. Its more common from people that have problem one way or another to enter forum to express it.

for example the “i will quit here is why” is more common than “i will never quit, i love this game. here is why” most people that have great time don’t spend time in forum to say it.

if you want to be accurate you have to put the poll inside the game only as feedback

Would be nice to have an option to choose. I can agree with OP that there’s no point to keep old graphics, like at all. Personally i don’t mind old graphics, i simply don’t care that much, however having the option is always good and those square critters is not that was making that game good.

STOP TRYING TO CHANGE CLASSIC

Accept the 2004 game for what it is, or don’t. It shouldn’t change, this was the WHOLE point of the release. Releasing the game as it was in 2004.

they have already made small tweaks in graphics i guess. is not entirely the same. the general idea is to keep it as close to original as possible. but is not 2004 some things in order to last must be changed and if they don’t change core elements of the game is ok.

character models might change elements of the game like timers, animations can alter skill efficiency etc etc so i am not sure that new models will be a wise choice to change.

this is true, theese forums are full of trolls and whiners to be honest, not all but a lot are, heck as you say, if anyone comes here to talk about how they love bfa, the bfa haters seems to gather to, try and destroy that person instantly also.

Especially when a VERY small majority of the player base actively use the forum. Sure I’d love that kind of power, but it wouldn’t be fair xD

I agree.
I am sure they thought about it or they just don’t care about what we think. One of their most common issue was, that they stopped pleasing the players enjoying the game, who made them what they are and started to listen spoiled brats that had hard time playing the game. I wont enter more into this discussion. Let’s not have that happen again.
Visually the game can advance and develop, there is no reason to stay in current state. Cloak’s models have always been a garbage, i cant be convinced that such great artists can’t create a nice royal cloak like the one Arthas have in Culling of Stratholm, however we still wear drapes and table sheets. Things like that.
As long as WoW brings them finance and people are happy they can implement things and have the choice to use them or not. People should not be concerned how the game looks for me, I want it looking in a specific way, they can play on the square graphics from 2004, their choice :slight_smile:

That is why we want everyone to be satisfied. People suggested, adding an option, 2004 graphics or Present.

Since they already touched some graphics, people started to see it is possible and they want it :slight_smile:

You can’t please everyone, and that is a proven fact.

The fact that Blizzard tried, is the reason retail ended up the way it did.

They had to ‘touch’ on some of the graphical settings to make it work, not because they wanted to please those who wanted better graphical options. It’s because of the engine.

We didn’t ask Blizzard for Classic, only to ruin it with retail QoL features, updated graphics and models and more.

Blizzard have also stated that this is a recreation of the original game, so i suggest people stop projecting, demanding and whining and instead turn their focus to what’s important, namely enjoying the game, or not. The choice is yours. If you don’t like Classic for what it is, then go back to retail, or start begging Blizzard for Classic+ or World of Warcraft 2 for the next 15 years. Better yet, go play on Pservers where they have updated models, graphics and QoL features.

Now, for everyone that agrees with the point I made, the discussion is open and I will progress on attempting to achieve that. As I said previously, play the game as you want, I do not bother you, however there are many who like it improved. We both agree that gameplay is the most important and I already said that, I will keep playing the way it is, without complain or whine.

However, I will keep hoping this can and will be achieved at some point. I would like to see more responses and suggestions how this can be achieved, and bring new ideas and suggestions. I do not like to see whine about they Vanilla staying as it is. Here is a discussion about improvement and also mentioned, added a choice, see it or not. Play on square graphic, I don’t mind. Play with retail details, i don’t mind, personal preference that does not impact the gameplay only adds more satisfaction to many of us.

Simple as it is.

It won’t. Read the interviews, watch the video interviews. It won’t happen unless they do Classic+ or WoW 2.

You do, actually. You’re doing it right now, by wanting Blizzard to ruin Classic with things that weren’t a thing in the original game.

The discussion is open for anyone, even those who disagree with you. If you want a private debate, make your own forum and delete the posts from those who disagree with you.

It is not just the game play, but the aesthetics as well. We wanted the original game, with all its graphical flaws etc. Retailers are the only ones who complain about the graphics and models etc.

The same people never even cared about bringing the original game back. In fact, they insulted those of us who asked Blizzard for 15 years to bring it back, by telling us that they’ll never do it. Stop asking. The original game is dead, and so on.

You think that updated graphics and models will be optional? It ruins the immersion when you know that anyone you run into or play together with may or may not use the updated graphics and models.

Saying that we want Classic to be Classic is not whining. We say that because we asked for the recreation of the original game.

You do know what a recreation is right? I also assume you know what preservation means? If not, look up the definition on google.

I’m not even sure what you’re trying to say. You want updated graphics? Then go play Retail. The older graphics look much better, and fit the theme of Classic perfectly.
