I dislike flat “class wide” nerfs. While Resto Druid is an immortal tank healer, the DPS specs for Druid are not even close to that. The flat Bear form armor nerf creates a further dent in DPS druid spec survivalbility.
Feral and Moonkin are already at the top of dps specs that die to melees. Your only real “defense” if you can even call it that is using Cyclone. Which is infinitely harder as a DPS druid spec than on Restoration.
These 2 specs are the kill target of over 98% of all arena games they appear in, especially when enemy team has melees.
Would be good to see some actual buffs to both specs survivalbility.
Unlike Mages and Warlocks, Moonkins don’t have on-demand teleportation spells. If a DK / Windwalker or DK / DH or Ret / Warrior, Enha Shaman / Warrior team wants to kill a Moonkin, they most likely will do so. It’s very hard for the spec to survive, even with the combined efforts of the entire team of the Moonkin.
Would be good to see some kind of new talent / spell that allows Moonkin to survive getting trained so hard.
Similarly, Feral also gets squished by heavy Melee opponents. Feral is slightly more dangerous for those melees, as the stuns and big ferocious bites can quickly send a Windwalker or DH to the graveyard, however oftentimes they get ran over so quickly that they have little more than their opener to do big damage in, unless supported by a ranged teammate for control.
Feral should see a duration increase to Survival Instincts. Moonkin should get a completely new talent that helps out in surviving melees specifically. If not exactly tankiness for Moonkin, then something similar to the Paladin talent for getting crit many times procing Wings - Moonkins can get something like this for an Incarn proc if hit enough times. If you can’t outright get defensive buffs, at least get something to fight back with.
we ferals have been asking for this , not just in pvp but pve too, on 26 keystone feral has the highest deathrate, it screams for def buffs but radio silence from devs
As much as i agree and i would love to have treants like MoP that has 3 charges and roots meles on use, and also have displacer beast back to combat these nmever ending mobility meles. I am VERY skeptical that they wil ldo anything about this, i have learned over the past several years to expect the worst and by doing that i never get dissapointed.
Asking for Feral changes is a lost cause. If you have been maining Feral for few xpacs you know how its always at best average with the exception of one comp that is jungle cleave… and its usually quite fast to get nerfed as opposed to say Sub where it will start every season with like 10 different one shot macros and then get slapped with 3% nerfs until the end of the season.
At this point it cant be more clear that some specs will always be S tier in PvP no matter what while the rest are a roll in the dice. Usually its Rogue, Mage, Warlock and maybe DPriest
Yeah when I see a moonkin, I instantly want to go and kill them. I have never come across a feral yet, which explains why. Feral talent tree is crap according to my friend who plays Druid.
I normally pay Affliction warlock but rn I’m playing this druid. If i have time.
I like how feral works, but it definitely needs a survivability buff. When in bear form melees are easily killing you. They need to make the finishing moves usable while in bear form and give feral an armor increase in cat form.
if they did this it should only apply to arena boomie is a monster in rbg and added survivability would just break it further. the spec is so easy to deal insane dmg with outdmging anything by a huge margin //dmg in rbg.
We were just recently crying that rogues can oneshot ferals in bear form wiht CDs and prebear and we got what we wanted - armor nerfs to help even more specs oneshot feral in bear form.
I actually wanted to try out feral with the regen / regrowth buffs in the last few patches, but it seems like bear that was already useless will become even more useless vs melee comps.
Seems I’ll be gearing my BM hunter, I hear it’s S Tier
Feral survivability requires a lot of ‘pre’ bear, pre-wall etc etc. In itself already high skill cap. But even then we die in bear 100-0 to a sub rogue with full burst for example.
But vs double melee bear form does very little.
But to make it do EVEN less is just absurd. I don’t get why they don’t keep this change to rdruid only, which is indeed a very annoying target to kill fully hotted sitting in bear.
Something that was addressed long time already. In bear form you do actually nothing, and you are legit a training dummy.
What is the reason for not doing ANY dmg in bear form? I mean, developers are office crawling ppl who skipped some natural science class or what? As a lesson, i’d like to challenge them to go the woods and run at a bear, see what happens.
Or just change the bear form to turn into a red target dummy with a clown face, that would fit the meme better
this applys to every dps that can’t use defensives while stunned. the entire gameplay of facing rogues is pre-walling stuff or you just die. its garbage design and is not a feral problem - it is a sub rogue problem.
literally every single problem the game has pvp wise can be traced back to typically just sub rogue. you could remove this one spec (not even the whole rogue class) and with a round of restructuring talent trees in 11.0, fix pvp fairly easily.
there isn’t any skill cap to surviving as a feral unless you’re facing a sub rogue. it takes 0 effort to go bear form vs a warrior or dk or hunter. it requires 6th sense and/or addons blaring in your ears to play feral into sub rogue - but thats, again, an ‘everyone who doesn’t have usable-in-cc defensives’ thing, not a feral issue.
Ye thats clearly why feral is in 70% (above 2.1k even 77%) the guy who died when he lost the round in a solo shuffle round.
Compared to e.g. arms 35% or DH’s 22% . Must be clearly the same - and that is before armor nerfs.
Why do you bother ffs. People think players kill druids because they are squishy. People don’t understand that leaving druid alone is a game lost in <1 minute due to
Not exactly, cause plates would take a lot less DMG just for being a plate. Some classes (lock, priest, hunter) have stronger CDs they can use while in stun. Other classes have immunities. Warrior has Dstance off the CD and doesnt lose 90% of it’s DMG like feral does, they also have a ton of passive healing and Ignore Pain is almost always up and Bladestorm gives immunity to stuns and you can parry all attacks. Monks can port or trinket karma and be safe. Hunters can survival in a stun or trinket immune a whole go or pet stun. Priests can dispersion in stun which is almost an immunity, Disc can Pain Supp in stun. Mages can Iceblock or blink. Paladins can just bubble. DKs can Icebound to get stun immunity and have a cheat death mechanic.
Feral can barkskin and most of the time still die through it.
Ask any healer or any feral player from the top 100, every healer will tell you that healing feral is 10x harder than any other spec in the game and ferals will tell you that surviving as feral is a lot harder than any other class they played. We have a ton of good feral players that play other classes to 2400+ and all of them say - feral is the hardest to survive on.
