"Connector" Fligth Paths

I remember from Vanilla that even though I had some Flight Paths on a continent I was not able to fly from one end to another - say Rathcet to Auberdine - before I finally got the connector Flight Path. Is my memory just bad, or do anybody remember the same thing?

I don’t remember it, I do experience it.
Of course if you have a good knowledge of flight paths, built into your natural route of discovering zones, possibly by also picking more breadcrumbs.

For example, in North Kalimdor you should simply take the Azshara flight path, and you’re good. Next option is Theramore, indeed. Of course as a typical newbie you won’t end up discovering it, unless you’re an explorer.

Same for the horde in the Eastern Kingdoms, I think it’s Badlands.

They added more flight path routing before 1.12.

1.11 Multiple Flight Points added and existing paths adjusted.

The same Vanilla-era discomfort is present in the game as we speak.

As an above poster mentions, the Azshara flight path for Alliance is quite crucial.

For example, you can’t fly from Theramore to Ashenvale (Astranaar) without Azshara as a connector.

WHAT! I just did yesterday - and it was what led me to writing this post. It must havbe been a bug!
ETA I do NOT have the Azhara FP.

Well, I can’t speak for what other routes you might have taken, but you can definitely get stuck with no connections between certain points.

I had trouble connecting fp’s in Kalimdor, untill i got the one in Desolace. That fixed it.

The one path I was unable to do on my druid without Azshara was Ratchet-Astranaar. I remember because from Ratchet I noticed I couldn’t fly north and thought “huh, I’d swear I had taken Astranaar”, walked all the way and saw I already had it. It was then that I went to Azshara.
