Consequences of the Ren'dorei (8.3 spoilers)

Why the hell does it have to be confirmed OOCly…?

Playable Void Elves are from the faction of High Elves that renounced their ties to the Alliance, this is a weird argument to take.

I’ve not advocated once that Stormwind should be RPed as a lawless haven. You’re avoiding my argument about player representation and the inability to properly represent any kind of guard presence beyond a boring self-DMed arrest.

I never said it had to be confirmed OOCly, but it wasn’t confirmed ICly or OOCly? ANd like I said the Old Gods always seemed capable of whispering people, wether a void elf was present or not, so why would the presence of a void elf make people go:

?

Can you please stop posting and read my sentences? Why are you on about whatever is confirmed when I was posting about a bunch of commoners thinking Void Elves cause them to hear Old God whispers and decide to attack/purge/lynch/torture them?

Do you need every character-driven decision or idea go through a WoWhead/WoWpedia fact check before its done? Did all the Christmas food clog your brain?

Daelhad is probably referring to the Horrific Visions scenarios when he talks about commoners going crazy, or just N’Zoth being powerful in general

It doesn’t need to be confirmed for a commoner to make a rushed decision based on what they thought is reasonable at the time, though… they see purple elf, they hear voices, some of then go crazy, so they quickly come to the conclusion that the purple elves with tentacle hair need to get rid of.

source? he said it was ALMOST at that point, not that it actually happened.

do… do you think that the void elves are the only void-related people in 8.3?
Please reply to this with a clear yes or no answer, because it’d really clear up your weird train of thought.

I was asking it. As you should have

If I were an agent of N’zoth I would want to create some chaos in Stormwind…

I’m not referring to any particular scenario coming in 8.3. I saw/checked the general themes of the next content patch, used my imagination for 2 seconds about how peasants might react to seeing Voidtouched Elves in their vicinity while their minds are wracked by Old God/Faceless One whispers and described what can happen. Imagine if the guards, constables, soldiers, paladins or other citizens get affected too. How unfortunate!

I don’t believe that a single line of quest text, scenario or in-game event need to validate these things when we have an entire content patch dedicated to Old God corruption.

Gentlemen, please. No ICly/OOCly. No LY!

I OOCly agree with that.

It’s not a weird argument, to be fair. By that logic the Alliance (or Stormwind-RP’ers) should also look down/hate/despise the Kul Tirans, the Dark Iron Dwarves and the Mechagnomes.

Man, I miss that old guard guild… was it the Stormwind City Watch? THey were a good representation of a guard presence (or better then most others anyway).

Oh, I guess I forgot the thread was about every void creature in existence and didn’t specifically talk about the void elves.

You’re the one with a weird train of thought to me, you’re not making sense at all!

Oke, so… like I did basicly?

Also, sorry Daelhad, but I don’t agree with your 2 second headcanon.

World of Warcraft isn’t like real life, people seem to either be way more forgiving and tolerant or outright xenophobic and genocidal, there seems to be no in between in wow.

Remember, these same people survived/fought of multiple world ending threats and still allowed people that used that magic to walk among them.

Burning Legion (3x)? The Court Conjurer of Varian was a warlock at one point, warlocks are distrusted, but tolerated, and the demon-looking Illidari have been allowed to camp in Stormwind. Even after demons infiltrated the city and replaced the Royal Guard, even after they wiped out the town Darkshire.

Undeath? Stormwind fought of 2 Scourge invasions and still allowed the Knights of the Ebon Blade to enter the city and reclaim their possessions from when they were alive, they are also allowed to serve in the Alliance and Stormwind armies and advance in rank.

Worgen? They have fought with the worgen in Duskwood and Silverpine for years, intelligent worgen show up and are allowed to settle in the city and even keep to their worgen form, rebuild a village in Duskwood too!

Void/Old Gods? Stormwind allows shadow priests and warlocks within their border (known void users), they fought of multiple void infiltrations and survived an attack by Deathwing the Destroyer. Yet suddenly the void elves are a step to far?

Also, if N’zoth could whisper everyone at the same time on the entire world to make them so aggresive they attack their allies, then the game should basicly be ended next patch, because why would people suddenly stop at void elves when they still hear the whispers after chasing out al the void elves?

yeah remember when those three joined the Horde? I sure do(n’t)

Yeah you did indeed. It’s about patch 8.3 as a whole but highlighting what the velf RPers plan to do with it  hope we’re on the same page now.

You can just say “yeah I goofed” instead of a weird ‘no u’ schtick, you know that right?

who said that N’zoth is mind tentacling the entire populace of the planet at once

why do you always interpret everything as the utmost extreme

(also type faster please you’re embarrassingly slow)

Oh sorry for stepping on your country-sized toes man.

I was just confused because I thought you said that the void elves are the reason that other people heard whispers of the Old Gods and it wasn’t clear to me you meant that like the peasants thought that was what happening.

I am sorry for whoever lives with you if this is how you react to confusion irl too.

You’re absolutely wrong thankfully, I’ll note that down to not knowing the setting that well.

An excellent breeding ground for any Old God-related cultist or monster to bring the worst out of their victims and turn people on each other.

Because what I described of one scenario that can occur? We had Yogg-Saron driving miners crazy rather frequently.

As a matter of fact we have had almost every single instance of a character serving the Old Gods start out by hearing their whispers and succumbing to madness.

And I now understand why your insufferably thick and neurodiverse drivel has been annoying. You can’t understand or react properly to what others type.

Slight hint before you’re on my forum block list, at the very least learn to apologize when you make a mistake instead of digging your hole deeper, it might make your life better too.

And we have a factual source stating that these same people still hate void elves even without any N’Zoth apocalypse turning people insane. In lore the common folk already equate them with Twilight’s Hammer.

“but people should be tolerant” doesn’t fly in this case when we specifically know they aren’t tolerant towards void elves.

Is that coming from the Danuser interview on allied races, or is there a neat piece of void elf lore that I have somehow missed?
