Could a possible solution be some sort of achievement or buff to give the SSF/no greens/no repairs/no talking to NPC crowd a visual distinction to pat their ego and make them stop flooding the forums with posts on how messed up it is that the HC servers won’t be a 1:1 implementation of the addon they cherish so much?

Maybe the Soul of Iron buff wil used for this. Blizz sayss it will be in game when HC servers go live. Is only speculation on my part, but would be nice 
I hope not. I want to play permadeath but i dont want to play SSF

There is charm to SSF, I’m currently playing that with HC addon, but not being able to buy things for my profession, for example, rods made by blacksmiths for my enchanting, is annoying.
On the other hand, I do understand OP’s concerns about gold sellers, and also not using AH if it is permitted by the rules puts you at a disadvantage. Well, all we ssf-enjoyers can do is install HC addon on top of already playing the HC server, lol.
