My friends and I are considering to move from Alliance to give Horde RP a try and we’re not sure whether it’ll be worth our time (and money). But we’d like to explore what options we have within the Horde RP, what guilds are recruiting and would like to have us (3).
We currently don’t have any concrete character concepts (or set races) but we are looking predominantly for some kind of adventure guild that accepts most races and doesn’t require uniform. We also enjoy doing RP in between events so an active guild would be welcomed.
make timerunner
create horde character
go to orgrimmar once youre free
witness complete desertification 3/4 weeks a month and then join a guild to get semi-regular events or just stalk the forums for whatever you think is interestin
horde rp is dedge but its still more fun than most alliance rp #facts
I too am wondering what options there are on the Horde for Rp. I understand it’s not as numerous as the Alliance but surely they have their own version of “Mercenary” guilds and such?
There’s an Orgrimmar Market Night going on tonight, which will likely be attended by a heap of active Horde guilds. There’s no better night for having a look at Horde RP.
Off the top of my head, there’s half a dozen active mercenary/military/warband guilds, half a dozen blood elf exclusive guilds, and a couple of racially exclusive guilds for every other race.
But really, with levelling alts being so easy at the moment, I’d just spend twelve hours of free time levelling a Horde alt normally or six hours of free time levelling a Remix alt to play after the War Within comes out. No need to throw away money on a faction change.
If you’re looking to get into Horde RP, I’d reccomend joining the Horde Casual RP community on discord ^^ There’s a link in our forum thread here:
We advertise any Horde events that pop up so players can see what’s coming up soon, along with allowing Horde guilds to advertise themselves. We also host weekly casual gatherings every Sunday and tonight we’re starting off a re-occuring monthly market in the Drag in Orgrimmar.
Consider starting a character before you fork over money for a faction switch
Both to experience what the faction is like before investing as well as retaining your old character on the other side in case you ever do want to go back.
I would also recommend just creating new characters to test things out before spending any money. The Horde is quiet - very, very quiet. It is possible to find role-play but it revolves heavily around organising it in advance as opposed to stumbling across it randomly.
Whether you find roleplay or not aside, please don’t pay up 20 bucks to faction switch a character that’ll be able to do seamless cross-faction content next expansion just to try a new roleplay concept, be it towards the Alliance, or Horde - no less if all you’re looking for on this alt is finding a new avenue of roleplay.
As the many people has said before, just level a toon. You do not even need to get to 70 to start rp. It takes little time and saves you 20 bucks. Horde is fun but it is better to “try it out” over regretting having spent 20 bucks and spending another 20 bucks to switch back
And while we don’t know yet -when- exactly we are getting the prepatch, i wager that during said prepatch leveling will be quite fast like the last times!
