Constant disconnections

The issue is still going for me however I saw it was marked as fixed. What gives? How can I resolve this mess? Three days have passed and nothing changed

I have same issues as you, would like to have them resolved.

I have done everything from articles “112213” and “99037”

Issue is that i keep disconnecting every 30-60min and if i try to switch to alt my character selection background appears as black, UI is visible without any characters on the list.

If i recall correctly this started happening 2-3 days ago. would this be DDOS related?

Same goes for me
glad someone mentioned it
I believe it started all after their DDOS attack
So trying to change realms-you can get stucked in constant loading the DC
same for changing region/language
Sometimes you just logged into the game and after 20-30 sec DC without a lag spike or so

Exactly same problems in here.

My Dc’s are constant, 10 seconds in game max and then im booted out. Can’t /say anything, can’t use portals, can’t use HS. And this all has nothing to do with being in the dragon isles. My alts in different places all have the same issue.

On classic the issue is not as bad but still exists. I get disconnects but they are much more random and with longer times between them.

I have exactly the same issue. Interestingly enough it only happens on one server (Ravencrest) - I am able to play on other servers.

I can’t play only one of my characters due error (WOW51900319)

I have a similar problem. This happens only on Ravencrest server - I get disconnected with the same error showing up after ~~ 20 seconds. Problem is persisting since yesterday - my internect connection is alright (as mentioned, only Ravencrest is affected). I can play on other servers no problem.

Hello guys, since yesterday i started experiencing this problem

All my spells work fine and i can do quests use auction house and all … but i can’t use chat, i cant use premade group finder or dungeon finder, when i use hearthstone or teleport to another location it disconnects me, on my other alts it works normally for like 1 or 2 minutes then the same problem happens.

i’ve tried to reinstall battlenet, reinstall the game, reset my router, try another internet connection, reinstall windows nothing worked :frowning:

https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/12v2lek/weird_problem_i_need_help/ here is a link to my reddit post showing a video of the problem

I have seemingly exactly same problem, at least everything I see on OPs video is the same for me, even character selection going black after logging out and it starting yesterday. In addition to that, I can’t see guild chat logs, guild logs, and cannot interact with most NPCs. AH and some vendors work fine, but trainers and for example Tattukiaka in Iskaara won’t open any kind of interface.

On a low level alt I was able to queue to a leveling dungeon through the dungeon finder, however once the dungeon is finished I can’t leave the group until I get a random DC few moments later.

Nothing seems to fix it. Not reinstalling, not updating drivers, not reseting router, not disabling antivirus & firewall, nothing I can think of.

And here’s the real kicker: I tried to log on with my laptop, and the problem persisted, so I’m pretty sure there is nothing wrong on my end.

Here are my desktop specs in any case, from dxdiag (the whole thing won’t fit in one post )

The two posters above describe EXACTLY the issue I’m having. Glad to see I’m not alone on this. Tried UI reset, full reinstall on a different directory, updating drivers, disabling antivirus, nothing seems to help.

The title says it all. I cannot do anything and not even enjoy the game for the last couple of days. I get disconnected after three minutes of logging in. I press find group. Nothing happens, I look at my guild chat. Empty, but it shouldn’t be empty then I get disconnected!!! Is it just for me that is happening???

I’ve gathered up a few posts from other people that were reporting the same thing to have everything in one place, because the issues reporting are the same.

We’re currently looking into reports of this happening, where usually a specific character (or multiple specific characters, not the entire account) loses the ability to chat, interact with UI elements, and disconnects if they try to move to another area. While at this time we don’t have any specifics to share, we would appreciate if you could provide some information to help us look into this.

  • If performing a User Interface Reset helps. Note that just disabling your addons isn’t sufficient to test this
  • Whether it’s only happening on certain characters, or if it’s impacting all of your characters on a specific realm, or multiple realms.
  • If leaving your Guild helps, as we’ve had some scattered reports that it does. You may need to use the /gquit command in chat as opposed to going through the Guild UI to try this. Your Guild Rep is maintained for up to 30 days, as long as you don’t join another guild in the interim, so rejoining would restore you at the Rep level you had
  • If it does help, whether or not rejoining the Guild gets the issue to start popping up again

Along with those details, it’d be really helpful to have the results of a WinMTR test (Windows) or PathPing (Mac).

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!

Yesterday i have DCs on most of my chars even without a guild.
99% of such moments is never lag spike>DC
its just DC with a normal average ping
All these things started after DDOS attack and it keeps happening again and again
Turned off all addons/reset UI-didnt help at all
If you can log into the game with character and stay without DCs for 10-15 min then game experience is normal
Mostly you cant,so DCs occurs each 5-10min
Another issue is you cant change realms or regions because doing so puts me on constant load and then DC to login screen
+not sure but there is also another issue which was in place even before DDOS attack, when you trying to switch realms you get an error “we couldnt log you with information you typed in blah blah”
Not sure if its massive but yeah better also to mention it

I did some experimenting:

UI reset does nothing.

It affects all characters that are in a guild, no matter the faction or realm. Tested on both sides on Ravencrest, and horde on Zenedar.

I was not able to gquit on my own, not even through chat command, but once I had an officer kick my alt and relogged on it, everything seemed to work normally.

However, the moment I rejoined back to the guild, everything stopped working again.

We also tested if a guild rank change does anything but it had no effect.

Hi.

Did some tests as well.
UI reset = no impact
Cache clear = no impact
Full deletion of the game’s folders and full re-dowload = no impact
Character being in a guild or not = no impact (didn’t try leaving my guild on the main, but connecting a preroll without guild shows the same issues).
I’m playing on a M1 Pro MacBook Pro, no issue when I’m playing on my windows PC, on the same network.

It seems players on US servers are experiencing the same issue:

I have tried leaving the guild (by getting removed by the guild master since /gquit did not work). Sadly it did not help (however it seems that I am getting dced about 30-40 seconds after logging in instead of 10-20 seconds).

Excerpts from my issue, which is identical to what people have posted above. It seems like more and more folks are experiencing this issue in EU and US servers. Is Blizzard working on an active solution to this?

"I am unable to interact with or view Social functions for Timewalking queue, Group Finder, Whisper, Guild Chat. Additionally, after a few minutes I just get D/C from the game. Not sure what is happening. I’ve deleted my Cache, restarted my router, and ran a Scan & Repair on my World of Warcraft file (which said everything is fine.) What is the next step? " - first ticket

"I followed all of the steps you mentioned in the above response. I also did a full reinstall of World of Warcraft, with zero addons and with my addon manager uninstalled. Still, my social interface is the game is broken. I cannot queue for TW; LFG for Raid, Dungeon, PVP, etc. will not load and eventually D/Cs me; and, lastly, I still cannot see Guild Chat, /say, or /whisper.

However, I found one solution: if I connect to Battle.net via a third-party VPN, I have access to all of those features. It’s very strange. Even though it is now working through this workaround, I would prefer not to play through a VPN since it increases my ping. So, what solutions would you suggest for the issue that it appears is occurring between Blizzard’s EU servers and my ISP?

Thanks.

Chris a.k.a Allarros" - second ticket reply

I have since conducted three WinMTR tests for each of the EU servers. All of them display issues with a connection to Blizzard’s servers in several hops. I have submitted to Blizzard Support and am hoping for answers.

Also got the same Problems, all my Charakters on EU-Aegwynn are affected. The funny thing is, on Frostwolf I can play without any disconnects @ all. Please fix this, all my “mains” are on Aegwynn and I cant play any soloshuffle on it… already lost like 700cr just because of random disconnects.
Really hope you compensate the people, who have those problems.
Edit:
Did some further testings… all Characters on Aegwynn… when I log into one Character and then logging out again, Character Selection Screen always black and then disconnects me after some time.
This is not happening on my Frostwolf Characters

Ever since DDoS attack, myself and another guild member are suffering from completely random disconnects (never happened before this DDoS attack on April 19th). In addition to that, whenever we logout - character select screen is black. There are buttons available, but no characters visible, nor possibility to ‘Enter World’. Pressing logout (from char select) and then ‘Reconnect’ (from WoW Start-up page) brings back characters, but this isnt optimal, especially when you’re in a hardcore raiding guild and speedrunning.

A lot of reading was done and these are the things myself and guildmate have tried:
-Reseting game settings
-Using Graphics API as Directx 12 / 11 / 11 legacy.
-Changing video settings to low/high.
-Updating all drivers (Windows, GPU, software)
-Disabling any overlay programs
-Running WoW as the only active program on PC.
-Reseting router, refreshing internet settings
-Clearing WoW cache files
-Running WoW in -Windowed mode
-Deleting and reinstalling the game
-Upgrading Windows (yes, upgrading windows…)
-Running Wotlk PTR (it doesnt have this issue)
-Logging in / out with characters which arent in a guild.

Reddit nerds suggest this has happened after every DDoS attack Blizzard has faced, and it was related to their database servers and whatnot. Nothing on how quickly it was fixed or if players could do anything to workaround this issue…

PLEASE FIX THIS. Its very obvious it is not players’ or their set-up fault, but rather blizzard servers and databases.
