So Naxx is out and I’ve been looking forward to finally killing KT but the thing that is putting me off is the price of consumables I mean realistically how many people can afford to raid weekly with the price they are at currently at.
I play Lock with a guild that isn’t super hardcore, we didn’t clear Naxx in the first week - We went in and killed 8 bosses and had a few wipes here and there.
So just to give you some indication of current prices:
Major Mana Potion - 10g - Yes I have life tap but theres a few fights where I won’t be getting the heals I need so I do need to pop these.
Greater Arcane Elixir - 18g
Elixir of Shadow Power - 14g
Brilliant Wizard Oil - 19g (I know I can use the oil from the event but that is limited)
Stack of Runn Tunn tubers - 60g
That’s just the standard consumables that doesn’t account for Flasking (350g), GSPP (20g), GFPP (8g) or GNPP (15g).
So for 1 raid night that will cost me:
Just basic raid consumables: 449g
Basic consumables+1 Flask: 799g
Basic consumables+1 Flask+Greater protection potion: 1029g
Does anyone else think that’s a bit excessive for a single raid? I mean it was definitely more managable during AQ40 launch when the price of Greater Arcane Elixir was 12g, Shadow Elixir 9g, Major Mana 6-7g, Wizard Oil 15g, Runn Tunn Tuber 25g and Flasks 230g-250g but with Naxx the price has almost doubled on every single consumable and I haven’t seen this happen for any other raid (BWL/AQ).
How many people do you predict are buying gold to keep up with these prices? I gotta admit I do feel like calling it a day as the time investment just doesn’t seem worth it each week and if I have to fork that out every week until TBC then I’d rather not.
