We never had a precise release schedule anyway. For all we know, this might have been the schedule in the first place.
It is because the vocal minority took to the forums complaining about wPvP, now the majority has to suffer.
I was fine with BGs coming out in Jan maybe late Dec earlier as I knew it would not last, but 10 Dec is way too early.
They listen to the crybabys on the forums wich are great minority and that sucks. They are the reason why retail is the crapfest it is today. Blizz should just trust themselves and release the content as intended and not do as the 3% loud minority wants.
I wish blizzard introduced a polling system in-game to gauge these sort of things.
From my point of view P2 came early because of the vocal minority.
What advantage? Ask the people farming menthil and sotuhshore how much honor they achieved for that time investment.
I am sure the horde crying “everything too early” are the same ones who have made 300 honor since honor launch and have slept in menethil/southshore and have no idea about it.
Poor Horde, forced now to play on even battles to get honor instead of 10 man raids ganks on flypoints. Such a shame…
You’re either incredibly naive or incredibly stupid if you think Blizzard doesn’t think for themselves and just listen to the “3% loud minority”.
Blizzard has all the data: The total amount of subscribers, the total amount of alliance and horde players per server, they can see when people stop their sub and estimate why … and lastly they have (mostly) whiners on the forums, which is basically the only data we the playerbase have.
They can see where the wind blows and do what they consider to be best for the game as a whole, and if their earlier release schedule has to be changed, so be it. Rigidity to the point of stupidity is not a virtue, and I’m glad that Blizzard has (on more than one occasion) shown themselves to be flexible.
Blizzard made a change and released Dire Maul earlier than first intended.
This was a good change imo, and according to pretty much everyone I talk to in-game. The game was in dire need of some non-raid, non-PvP content for lvl 60’s. The only ones who didn’t seem to like this was a click of people on the forums.
Blizzard then released the remaining parts of phase 2 (wPvP) about 2,5 months after release which is fine in itself. The issue isn’t that people are still leveling, (there will always be people leveling and hence, ganked by higher level players) the issue was the unbalanced faction rations on many servers. Waiting longer before releasing phase 2 would not change this fact; the imbalance would still be there.
Now they’re making another change by releasing BG’s “earlier than planned” in an attempt to combat the current slaughterfest by giving levelers some respite and giving PvP:ers a place to go.
…and it should come as a surprise to no one, that a click (the same?) on the forums are opposed to this as well, because of course they are.
And to anyone who might have missed it (or intentionally misread it) - we’re not getting BWL on December 10th.
We’re getting BWL “early 2020”, which could mean anything from Jan 1st to March 30th. If BWL releases in late Feb, Molten Core has had a lifespan of 6 months before the next tier was released, and this is absolutely fine. Especially considering that this is Classic, and Molten Core will not suddenly become redundant the instant BWL hits.
Not really sure what people are on about.
There simply is not much left to do for a solid geared lvl 60 now.
Sure, some world pvp is fine. Not as fine when the faction imbalance is as grate as it is on Shazz. Look at IF, players mainly huddled up near the AH, you go outside ? 10 Rogues and 20 Druids in stealth are going to jump you. Horde outside the gates getting pushed back every few minutes (And by Horde I mean 20-30 rando scrubers, not a well organised group). Sure, the tension is there, but not being able to really move due to all the stealth ganking going on is a bit much at times. Bones all over the place in IF as soon as you leave the AH zone.
Introducing BGs early changes what exactly ? You log, you raid, finish everything in 1hr, and than what ? Dungeons dont give (me) any more gear, I could join a wPvP grp, but than get overwhelmed eventually by a grp of 20 sapper blinking mages?
Lets see how it looks when the scales are even.
I continue being amazed by quotes like
“90% of players arent even geared yet”
or
“Most people havent even seen a raid from the inside yet”
and then I look at Mograine and literally every 60 is running around with Tier set pieces, BiS weapons and other raid gear. For me it sure feels like “90% of 60s are already geared.” and “Most people have already seen every raid from the inside 10 times.”
I lost trust in blizzard years ago.
This game is not for everyone and trying to accommodate everyone is what led to retail.
If people unsub because they cannot handle wPvP then I say good riddance.
This so much this, only a small % of the population is under 60 on their main and only a small % level 60s is undergeared.
At this point I am pretty sure server pops are close to 60-70% maxlvl chars.
I’d that would largely down to a fast majority of low levels not really playing much, I don’t fit into that but on Noggenfodder, there isn’t many 45-59 players, trying to get a group going has been nothing short of crawling over broken glass
BGs are not a new content! They are the only PVP content and thus should have been included in the game from the beginning. I think we are ok now - PVE players have MC and Onyx and PVP players will have BGs.
I agree however the next content should be pushed back - I just started raiding MC and I definitelly don´t want BWL released anytime soon.
Explain why is it too early ? What is game-breaking about bgs exactly ?
Bg coming right now is healthy, cause people who want to rank up have a way to do so without raid-farming areas.
Good job having lvl 31 after 3 months since release. Blizzard really should tailor Classic around you.
Release DM early because the ADHD kids are bored already.
Release BGs early because “you already did it with DM” and ganking.
Release BWL early because the ganking continues while horde are waiting in long BG queues and want an honor farm advantage, fixing nothing.
And so on.
I’m 41 and started a month and a half ago, genius.
Releasing WSG and AV was a smart move. It’ll make the wpvp experience a lot healthier and the gear from WSG + AV is MC-equivalent not BWL/ZG-equivalent so it makes sense now.
I really don’t want them to accelerate the PvE release schedule though. We’ve been raiding MC for 2 months and still most of our raiders only have 4-6 items. There are tonnes of people that are still just getting to 60.
I think there should be at least another 3-4 months before BWL releases.
