i really hope this event is scheduled to re occur but can blizz be bothered since it was a bug in the first place
They have recreated many âvanillaâ bugs, so why not this one? xD
Because it will be funny for about 25-30 seconds. Once people know itâs happening their main goal will be to go out and infect as many people as possible - as fast as possible.

It was used as research before, nothing new can be gained from the same experience in outbreaks.
Psychologists could have a field day with studying trolling though.
Unfortunately I think Blizz wonât release it this time around. The public outcry when a trash paper such as The Sun or The Daily Mail gets ahold of the story while there is an actual killer pandemic in the air all around us right now wouldnât be good for PR or profits

Players didnât know it was happening back then, until word spread and it was recreated. Players know it could possibly be coming now and as mentioned previously, some will intentionally travel as far and as wide as possible to spread it to places it never reached first time around. Iâd even wager thereâs people intentionally leveling characters with pets to do just that.
There is at least 10fold more raiding going on than in vanilla, on the day of ZG release there will be hundreds of guilds worldwide ready to go at the gates with everyone equipped with BiS. Massive difference to 14 years ago.
Also, the success of the research from 14 years ago led to much better computer simulations, far beyond what a bunch of gamers can do in an old game today.
I was genuinely hoping for it, and Iâm sure Blizz were too, it would be a good event, for a day or so. Could have even brought in more subs.
But think hard now mate, what would The Sun and The Daily Mail say about a kids video game releasing an incurable virtual virus while there is an actual one happening right now? They would make it their mission to shut this game down. Far beyond what any protest did before.

We can all joke about this once itâs over, but attitudes like that, not just online but in actual real life is part of the problem of this virus spreading so fast. If you canât grasp that then youâve a lot of growing up to do.

We are in an extremely serious time in Europe right now and thereâs far too many people not taking this seriously enough, Covid is spreading fast because of idiots thinking they can do what they like whenever they like, that there are no consequences to their actions, that the rules only apply to other people. As a result people are actually dying in agony within a week because of the selfishness of others.
Time to grow up, work on your reading comprehension, and wash your hands.

I was actually levelling this very character in September of 2005 on the Venture Co. EU realm. I appened to enter IF just minutes after the initial outbreak. Yeah, there were corpses all over the bank square and trade chat was full of confusipn, but people were already ressing and life went on. It was a complete nothingburer.
Just like this Corona beer nonsense. The death count will be lower than annual flu, just like sars, bird flu, swine flu, ebola, whatever. Complete nothingburger and whingy little busybodies like Spudz freaking out.
I applaud all people who live their lives like nothing is going on and do so myself. Just been out on a playground with my kids, the spring is in full swing. My old in-laws were eating out in a restauran last night because they arenât whinging busybodies. I just made a dentist appointment for monday. Life goes on despite little dimwits like you Spudz.

Indeed, they recreated it once - the Lich King pre-expansion event.
Some people enjoyed it very much, others did not. Others did for a while, Shattrath was often full of corpses but I remember it was eventually annoying.
As in, you donât gain immunity- you die, then you get sick again, even in your home, because the zombies come for your brainz.
Fortunately, soon after I got a farm in Hillsbrad where I planted sunflowers and peashooters to keep them away while resting.
