Hey all,
Ok so I know eventually you get talents to reduce it but it’s a bit naff.
Granted I started in Wrath and played lock ever since, so I’m so used to it being instant.
Feels off a dot having cast time. It’s hard as so many people even when I cast it, by the time it ticks someone tagged mob.
I’m only level 6 mind you so not sure about COA?
Strange that priest for is instant.
As said I guess I’m just used to lock with instant dots apart from unstable affliction.
I remember when death coil was on a 30 min cd with no way to improve it , as the above said welcome to Classic…
hahaha welcome to SM/Ruin
I don’t know how it is now but Shadow Priests had to cast one of their DoTs even in MoP.
30 min??? For deathcoil lol.
Rebirth had shorter cool down.
That’s the whole point man. You’re supposed to put talents into the cast time talent and once it becomes instant, u feel stronger and satisfied. Char progression.

Yes m8 very early in the games life, no fear effect on it either if my memory serves me correct.
imagine trying to tag things by casting when people rampage through starting areas with lag . Autoattack is your friend

Lol yes I figured out to just meele as so many people around.
It’s interesting going back in time but also strange when you see the quality of life changes they made
Could not even afford my spells at first.
Taken skinning in hope that may make bit of money
You’re a Warlock and you don’t melee? Melee-Warlocks were a thing in Vanilla. There’s a reason why you start with a melee weapon that has no stats and why casters have melee skills to level up in their skill-tab.
There are nine classes, none of them called ‘tank’ or ‘healer’ or ‘dps’. Get out of that mindset.
I’d also dispute that ‘QoL changes’ were simply that. They changed too much about the core game the moment the first expansion dropped. They were largely there to condition how players behave and think.

Stop crying already at lv6, if you don’t like it stay in bfa…this is how wow is supposed to be, all that came after it is rubbish…
That’s the new talent added in TBC, shadow tree - Vampiric Touch.
Just hit with a dagger to get the tag. If you are just worried about getting the tagged mob, then you need to start with dagger/shadow bolt/immolate. Even if corruption was instant cast it takes a second or two before the first damage tick occurs.
Just keep rank one shadow bolt around for a quick tag, or get a wand.
Plenty of solutions, and like people said its all about the progress. Its why getting a level in Classic feels good. Your character starts getting stronger.
For example, on a warlock, just wait until you get to level 10 and get your Void Walker. You immediately feel SO much more powerful. #feelsgoodman

using a castable dot to tag is probably the most stupid thing you can do.
It’s your opinion which you are entitled to!
However I am also able to comment on something I find a bit rubbish. Its an observation that’s all about not quite what I’m used too.
Of course I get it’s classic. Again just my thoughts nothing major… So chill mate.
Rubbish or not, this is not retail version of the game, this is how it was in classic and that’s the reason it will stay that way. Simple as that, I’m playing warlock as well and having a blast, I’ve only put 2 point to get it under global CD since that’s enough, 6% hit is more important than instant cast for now.
Also I “quit” retail a long time ago and have only leveld up to max level each expansion since MoP.
I really love the game so far.

That’s cool and I do understand. I’m hoping classic will reignite my love for the game.
