Can you like for one tier stop showing your bias for a couple of classes (mage, hunters in particular). Ret isn’t strong and its high on current logs only due to the huge amount of wing procs on progression. It ain’t fair when fire is bad for 1 tier to instantly buff them and when ret is good for one tier to instantly gut them.
It’s not an improvement. It’s an unnecessary change.
Another kick in the teeth for Ret paladins.
As plenty have mentioned, all that development time (and it has been a lot) has been wasted. If it remains as it is now, legendary will most likely be dead on arrival.
Very few people will craft it - which means less game time in Torghast, farming gold if necessary etc (this is a very valid point considering the direction the game has been heading recently).
And of course, literally no one will be happy with this change. Not only does this bar Ret paladins from finally bringing really decent damage in raids (they don’t bring any utility compared to other classes) but it also deprives Prot paladins (which are also subpar) from having a decent legendary alternative.
On the other hand, there are plenty of other legendaries from other specs that perform much, much, better compared to Divine Resonance (Venthyr Druid, Venthyr Rogue, Warrior, Hunter, and so on and so forth).
Please revert the change.
I am shocked by this as a ret. It’s roughly a 4% nerf to overall damage when equipped compared to previous version. This is disgusting, and uncalled for. It’s still going to be the best for ST (barely), but for anything with sustained cleave or aoe, tempest is going to be king. However, the gap between DR and the likes of TV means I might have to maintain now 5 Legos just for ret, like MJ for keys for example. I refuse to do that, and for the first time, since I started playing in WOLTK, you are making me re-roll. I am sorry, but I am not maintaining 5 Lego’s to try to be relevant for mythic plus and raids. I don’t have that time.
Thanks for this, deserved nerf :). Shortens the gap between Kyrian and other Covenants for Ret a bit. Though perhaps a flat buff to all Ret to compensate would be nice ;)?
While I agree that gaps shouldn’t be this big, wouldn’t it be much better to buff other covenants to Kyrian level?
A couple of days before we all make it and you gut it. People have spent weeks changing Cov and grinding for a last min massive nerf. If this was so broken to warrant a 50% nerf then why was this not done pre patch?
Come on Blizz this is just like the Warrior nerf. Finally scrape us Melle of the bottom of the list to be kicked back down there.
How to kill the paladin like always
It is absolutely a necessary change. You don’t think balance is important?
You made a logical mistake. Even if Blizzard didn’t make changes, you still made a mistake by committing to something before it was even available. It is entirely your fault.
Isn’t paladin the worst tank along with BDK last season and this season too? That’s not balance to me…
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
If a class is only viable due to an over powered Legendary item then that is still a big issue.
With this Legendary nerf it’ll help understand where Paladin truly sits.
Also the “worst” tank is still able to clear +15’s and higher. So it isn’t really an issue.
Everything is viable with your logic. People want specs to be closer to each other, and why not? Wasn’t Blizzard’s own mantra to ‘bring the player and not the class’? It doesn’t seem so now does it?
“With this Legendary nerf it’ll help understand where Paladin truly sits.” Excuse me, but what?! Can you elaborate more on this? Paladin is predetermined to be worse than others?
It was not overpowered.
It was just competitive. This nerf probably trashed it.
Honestly, do you see paladin near the top of the damage meters in sanctum? I don’t. The leggy would just make them competitive, rather than the later half of the pack. Nothing was gonna get smashed. SP and mage would still be on top as usual. DK’s would be taken for their raid utility. This was hardly gonna crash the system.
Yes it sits below the others with better legendaries
I never really post on WoW forums and only seldomly complain about the state of the game or the decisions from the WoW team regarding the balance of the game, but I feel the nerf on the Kyrian paladin legendary is both too heavy, too late and really unfair.
I was really looking forward to play this legendary and had already made a rank 5 and a rank 6 belt in order to craft it as soon as possible. Divine resonance truly brings an unique, thoughtful and interesting gameplay in PvE, with the concern about not overcaping holy power as well as managing and not wasting a judgement debuff on the target.
It also did enable the possibility of focusing on 1 to 2 legendary maximum to be optimised in both M+ and raid instead of 3 to 4, which was really coming handy.
I’m truly disappointed of this really heavy nerf and feel kind of betrayed it is announced so late when the legendary remained in his former state for many weeks on the 9.1 PTR after the initial and deserved nerf.
If it’s more of a PvP issue then please, I beg you to revert or at least partially revert this really unfair overnerf in PvE content.
With all due respect,
Crazydiamond
Please revert it or make it 25 -20 sec
Ret and Prot should be competitive in Raid and M+
not single buff for paladin or Class tuning not even our crusader strike slight buff
we had nothing in patch 9.1 but this legendary and less than a week we got this 50% nerf !
Woohoo Sinful Surge nerf reversed
Nerf is really unfair tho, for the moment ret isn’t flavor of the moment, they can do good but they are others classes witch are just freely skyrocketting to the top whitout any trouble (my eyes are on moonkin & rouge). Warrior’s nerf reverterd but retri is gutted for free without any responses as usual, fair world i guess.
