Ok, so what am I doing wrong?
New to the crafting in df. Did some keys, got my primal infusion and really looking forward to get my 405 weapon. Been spamming trade chat for 2hours trying to find a crafter. No respons as the server is pretty dead. Public orders I can’t set quality?
What am I missing here? There must be something I’m missing. As far as I understand I can’t use public order because you can’t set quality. And trade chat is dead. So I have to choose between using public order and get a low quality item with my timegated materials or not craft at all?
Any goblins with an advice, because right now this is pretty infuriating.
Well you just arrived at what is called completely unbalanced content. It was all pretty and seemingly exciting in the well-directed promotional videos with only one caveat: it absolutely does not work.
To answer your question, it is intended for public orders to not quality selection for whatever reason developers had in their head. And if you don’t have people to craft it privately, well, just pray you’ll get a drop from the raid I guess…
I think you’re being melodramatic. There’s definitely some tweaks required to the cost of certain things and ease of obtaining/crafting certain items, recipes, etc. But to predict this from a limited testing environment to the whole WoW community was going to have its problems. There was always going to be a level of iteration post go-live. Dragonflight is going somewhere new and being able to predict this in advance of a full live environment is nigh on impossible. But the groundwork is sound, it’s a fantastic system. But remember, an economy doesn’t “work” without scarcity, and in a gaming environment, scarcity has to be artificially introduced. If not, then everybody can have everything. Would be utopia in real life but would make for a damn boring game.
The main thing is that I think there needs to be some sort of catch up mechanic for crafting and also addressing the underlying issues why there is such a slow trickle of crafting orders (I have no idea nor do I have the metrics, but Blizzard do). Maybe have more purchasable boost options from the Artisan’s Consortium and dependent on account-level unlock so you can get alts up there quickly.
No, in fact you are missing something, but it’s not your fault since it is not clearly explained.
You can use a public order or just craft rank 3-4 (399-402ilvl), it will use your time gated reagent BUT it will “remember it”. So when you get the “leet” crafter for a 405, you just need to pay like 3-6k in mats and his fee for the upgrade.
Frankly the cost of recrafting most of the time is pretty low (if you have 100k+ gold) so do not be afraid to craft it even at rank 4, you only lose like 2-3lvls that you will be able to recraft in 1-2 weeks.
Btw the materials that the item “remembers” and do NOT need to be provided for recrafts are sparks, infusions, primal chaos, missives, embellishments, and optional reagents in generals.
The ONLY reagents you will need to provide are some artisans mettles, and a small portion (less than half i think) of the trade good (ores, herbs, leathers, ect) that you bought off AH to craft it.
It’s easy to figure out why players can’t set quality: They’d set it at maximum every time (Why want anything but the best for your mats?), and in so doing shut out about 98% of crafters.
So now the players just ignore the whole work order system instead, i’m not sure if that’s a win for anybody, though…
Yep, can’t set quality minimum in Public orders, nor can you skip materials there(obviusly counterbalancing it with comission), that is one of the reasons you don’t see many of them, except for stuff where quality doesnt matter (PvP gear, Inscription weekly knowledge books, pets, etc), also the daily 20ish limit because…reasons, I guess?
In personal orders you can set quality minimum, can skip out materials (even Artisans Mettle), and the crafter is prohibited from creating the item if she/he can’t craft it at the corresponding quality level guaranteed.
So far I found zero crafting order with Inscription. Probably I have to make orders for myself just to finish a crafting order quest. Is the crafting order system is broken or the Inscription? At this moment the crafting order is out of order in my realm… they shut down.
Crafting orders are turned off atm due to a bug that caused customers receiving items at a reduced quality level than it was crafted at.
Scribes will usually find Treatise craft orders (weekly 1 knowledge), but the daily 20 limit is rather laughable.
