Lego market is a total mess, few made huge amount of gold at the start. Now to reach rank 4 you basically sink a lot of money for items no one wants.
15 items no one wants for each rank upgrade.
But what piss me off the most? Orboreal shard insane cost, 125G each…and you need dozens for each crafted piece!
They must drop the price of orboreal shard.
I know we have many gold income sources, still the market of raw NPC materials should work with fair prices
So you’re advocating for everything ingame, except transactions between players, to be free?
I genuinely don’t get how it is unfair, or how we’re fighting against developers in trying to generate gold. Aren’t the daily covenant callings insanely unfair towards the developers then?
I don’t understand your usage of the word “unfair”, I’m sorry. It’s equal for everybody, including devs who play the game, isn’t it?
Yeh. I committed heavily to the Legendary game at the start of the expansion.
It ridiculous the amount of materials needed to craft, and the cost of the Orboreal Shards.
Grinding the Materials took alot of time, which drives the cost up, then the Orboreal Shards just drive the cost up even more. Then on top of that, the Leather item required for the Leather Legendary was an incredibly rare drop rate, push the price up even more.
The system was definitely designed to sell WoW Tokens to casual players who wanted to get into Raiding and M+ early. I know plenty of did just to get theirs.
I’m sure 9.1 will be the same, as the items required to Rank up to 5 and 6 will probably be gated and rare.
As somebody who has bought several leather legendaries on a dead realm, I agree. Leather and mail legendaries were stupid expensive.
But this is mostly about Orboreal Shards, isn’t it?
If the topic were about the disparity in price between mail / leather and cloth legendaries, given that ones resources drop for every player, while the other requires a very niche profession, I’d agree, but most of the statements are about how Orboreal Shards are unfair, which is something I’m still not able to grasp properly.
Callings are an easy gold activity that everyone can do.
Crafting lego is something that some players do…and most of the expenses are from orboreal shard, NPC stuff. They can clearly reduce the price of the item or reduce the item needed per crafted gear…bare also in mind the insane decision of 15 piece crafted for each rank upgrade
Callings are an easy gold activity that everyone can do and some regularly do.
Crafting legendaries is something that everyone can do, but only some actively do.
Crafting legendaries early in the expansion was something that everybody could’ve done, but only a few did.
I’m sorry but this is exactly what people asked for.
“Give players who play throughout the whole expansion a bit of an advantage, similar to classic.”
“Make professions relevant again, similar to classic.”
I agree, crafting legendaries is insanely expensive, and especially now, costs a lot more than you earn.
But I believe taking gold away from the incredibly inflated economy is a good thing. And let’s be real, it takes 8 x 15 + 12 x 15 + 20 x 15 Orboreal Shards to rank a bracer legendary from 1 to 4. That’s 75k gold. That’s 30 days of doing callings. It costs 112.500 gold in Orboreal Shards to do the same for a chest one, so 50 days of doing callings.
It’s really not that much.
I don’t disagree, that ranking up a legendary is too expensive to be considered profitable at this point. I don’t disagree that 15 for each rank is insanely much, I just don’t get how all this can be considered “unfair”.
What in fact would be unfair, would be reducing costs of Orboreal Shards now, after people have bought them in the thousands already.
And what abou ven ari rep? Now shared with alt? They implement bad designs, then fix them.
Let s focus on the lego crafting: no one starting in SL could have done it without huge amount of gold accumulated in previous exp. It is too expensive and it is the only meaning of professions.
I care for profession, i love to be a crafter, i would like a bit of help from devs
Shards are not such a big deal, the problem is the huge number of “useless” r2/3 that are produced when leveling the legendary items and sinking millions into callous hides with no returns. Professions should be relevant not only for people who leveled the legos in the first couple of weeks, but throughout the whole expansion imo.
The price is fine. You’re coming late in a market with clearly defined finite demand. The demand has been satisfied, it doesn’t exist anymore as everyone has their legendary. The supply far exceeds the demand, so the price plummets. In the beginning of 9.1 there will be a spike in demand again, because of the new legendaries added, balance changes, etc. Leveling up your profession is still worth it, but the pay off will be in early 9.1.
Not unfair whatsoever. Everybody got the advantage of sharing rep with alts at the same time. Everybody who doesn’t have rep has to grind it once, similar to everybody else.
Now for people who grinded their alts to max rep before the shared rep was given to us players, they had the advantage of having a ton more stygia, as well as earlier access than anybody who didn’t grind their alts rep.
And venari rep has nothing to do with gold, that’s an extra. Nobody invested gold into grinding venari rep. If you were to reduce costs now, it’d be unfair to everybody who invested gold before. I wouldn’t mind, but you would, surely, since you care so deeply about things being fair, don’t you?
Now that’s just plain wrong, sorry to break it to you. Craft 15 rank 1 legendaries at a loss, by farming the mats yourself, and spending (oh lord forbid) 15k gold, or 8 days of callings, on Orboreal shards. Then craft 15 rank 2 legendaries, at a profit, use the money from your rank 1 legendaries on Orboreal Shards. You’ve now made profit and can continue crafting legendaries at rank 4.
One of my guildmates has pushed a singular legendary to rank 4, plate so not even one of the really expensive ones, and has made several millions with it, without ever being above 100k before shadowlands.
Now doing the same right now would be a lot more difficult, given the fact that prizes have dropped quite far, that I agree with, but you were talking about “starting in shadowlands”, so I’ll solely refer to that part.
I’m sorry, did I misunderstand this entire post?
I thought what “piss them off the most” was the Orboreal Shard cost?
