According to the US forums they locked whitemane Era. For whatever reason. Create your chars now while it‘s still possible^^
Just had a quick look at the US forum.
Looks like Blizzard is taking the failure of Retail out on Classic, as usual. But this time they’re not even trying to hide it behind a blue post pretending to be some sort of “help” or “improvement” for the community!
The current crop of Blizzard Entertainment cannot handle the fact that some people enjoy Classic more than their precious Retail. And because the current devs had nothing to do with what the classic games are, they are trying to sabotage the Classic series by letting bots swarm Wrath and by locking and choking the life out of the revival of Era.
Just when you thought Blizzard’s pettiness and contempt for its playerbase couldn’t plummet to lower levels, they do this… ggwp

This has to be some sort of mistake or something. I can’t even imagine why they’d lock it without any news.
Every other business would embrace the fact, that the game is actually already developed and there.
Just launch it correctly, take some care of it and you have a good and happy playerbase. For sure the income is nothing like a mobile game but well still

According to ironforge.pro Whitemane isn’t even the most populous realm in the US.
It could be a mistake.
Edit: It was, my mistake, I thought the OP was talking about Wrath but quite a few Era realms are locked on the US side.
Doesn‘t ironforge pro just show raid logs? With that many people leveling and not raiding I don‘t know how accurate their numbers might be.
But sure hope this is all a mistake
There was a post created by a level 56 (i believe) Death Knight on the US forums.
Maybe Blizzard locked Whitemane for the Wrath Classic but as a mistake they also locked the Era server.
