They changed everything for the casual player, all the raids are farmable in greens!
BWL was a huge joke, almost as much as MC was… We all expected AQ to be a tremendous step upwards in raid difficulty, what do we get? NERFED content to the max! May aswell stare at the boss and kill it!
not NERFED just on level of rest content of Classic. Classic is a Nerfed Vanilla and thats why i like it. cause of health problems cant play hardcore like i used to 15 years ago cant sit for longer than 2 hours on pc
I don’t think this is true, considering we have no Riding skill and Riding skill was added in 1.12.1 yet we don’t have it in Classic.
I believe blizzard have stated that they chose the pre 1.12.1 riding skill system because it felt more authentic, and that they believed that the late vanilla riding skill system was introduced as part of preparation for tbc. The riding skill system should therefore not be taken as an indication of which patch the reference client is.

amazing seeing the worst players argue in favor of making easy content even easier despite videos of TBC and later clearly showing that the eye beam isn’t supposed to work like you’re claiming.

Here is the explanation why the initial eyebeam got disabled for a couple of weeks at the end of 1.12.0. All credits go to theemus from reddit.
At some point during the naxx patch blizzard changed how zone wide aggro worked on bosses. The original zone wide aggro was added as a pulse to stop people from being able to out of combat rez during boss fights, I believe this was first added some time during BWL but I forget exactly.
The combat pulse put all players in combat, but it didn’t assign any threat to them, so if for example a mage ran in to pull garr or instructor razuvious and ice blocked all the adds and boss would attack the immune mage until someone else in the raid did something to get on the threat table.
This was changes sometime in naxx, and each player in the raid was assigned a threat value (probably 1) upon the boss pulling, so the mage ice block pull didn’t allow you to stroll in and pick up your mobs while they only attacked the mage, as soon as the mage blocked the mobs would start attacking other non immune players in the raid.
The way my guild (and most i’m assuming) pulled c’thun in vanilla was with a hunter using nature resist gear. He would run into the room and get the initial aggro while we would all run into the room being careful to avoid getting chained by the beams hitting him. Since none of us were doing anything to c’thun while we were running in, we weren’t on the threat table yet and he only beamed the hunter.
Once they made the change to how global combat worked, c’thun would start beaming random targets off the start and getting into the room was extremely difficult. Blizzard made this change at that point to compensate for the issues their change to global combat worked.
It’s because we didn’t really get vanilla, surely the damage value is probably correct, I don’t doubt that, but we started off with 1.12 stats, along with the updated talent tree which didn’t originally happen untill Naxxramas.
So we do have an easier version than the original vanilla.
That is one thing I actually think private servers unknowingly did better than Blizzard when it came to re-creating the ‘‘feeling’’ of playing vanilla, they did a better job at re-creating the spirit of vanilla WoW by mistaking the values of enemies, and as a result ‘‘buffed’’ their stats.
It made the game harder, and it re-created the spirit of vanilla better because players are simply better at the game today-- everything from knowledge and even down to movement of your character.
100% agree, Parla from APES. C’thun should not have been released like this.

Trust me, some video soon and asmongold will talk about that this is intended and we only remember it being hard because it was new back then.

I got over excited so i got quite blind and did not notice it.
However it appears that on NA Classic forum they have responded and confirmed it is a bug and will be hotfixed.
