The amount of customisation for how old this game is and how much money it brings in is hilarious. Some random korean mmo probably has more.
Just for example, why does the mag’har orcs not have the pale shattered hand skin. Its literally just a skin colour, how much resources would it take to add?. Why are certain human faces tied to certain skin colours???.
Where are the runic tattoos for blood elves?. Where are the troll beards?. Where are the dragonmaw orc skins and the original grey/green blackrock skins for og orcs.
I just want to point out that several haircuts and beards CLIP THROUGH THE CHARACTER, even without wearing any kind of armor, despite those haircuts and beards having been designed ONLY and SPEFICIALLY for that one race/gender combo.
Yup, instead we are geting terrible man’ari customisations becouse a bunch of fetishists wanted it, despite it being crap.
Also as Slapface pointed out the cliping, I will also mention how many headgear deletes haircuts and beards, which is ugly and basically prevents me from tmoging majority of actually nice looking headgear.
Because Blizzard clearly does not care about that stuff. How is it possible that they keep refusing to add long beards for Humans and other races, when they aknowledge it is canon in the lore? Even in Hearthstone they drew Antonidas with a long wizard beard- the only universe where he is short-bearded is the movie of 2016, which, to be frank, sucked.
Undead and Kul’Tirans, being also Humans, need this customization, and so do Draenei (just look at Velen), Trolls (Rokhan from WC3), and all the Elves (even though Blood Elves have a shaven culture there were two elders in the Sunwell Comic trilogy that possessed chad beards). These are just the simplest and most obvious customizations to make, but for some reason they deny us of having them.
I suspect two reasons for Blizzard’s customization choices: Either they are lazy and ignorant of the actual diversity that is needed, or they do it for their current cultural/political reasons (why did Humans get pink hair before getting long beards in a MEDIEVAL, WARCRAFT fantasy setting?).
No, they’re not. They just put in more effort than blizzard does.
The customization is rly a joke. Just look at hairstyles: Like 20/24 hair styles look like they are 15 years old with bad textures, and well, they probably are.
Also, a lot of even new armor looks glued on, but they have shown with their store transmog and tier set that it’s purely a question of effort.
So either the game consists of spaghetti code that makes everything extremely hard, or they’re just cheap. Going with the 2nd. Btw that’s also probably why we can’t dye gear. Dyeing gear would not allow them to make 6 times the same set and colour it differently to sell it as new content.
The amount of recolours we got from the Zaralec Caverns Set is kind of embarrassing at this point
Spaceships, guns, cars, motorcycles, mechs, robots, androids and many many more examples make it very clear this is not your average fantasy medieval setting (it definitely has medieval elements and many fantasy elements and tropes though).
I do think there should be long beards though. And lots and lots of other customization for every race in the game.
Yes, they are. Koreans are just in love with turning their chars into sweetie-lovey-dovey chibies in sparkling glittering outfits. A sharp contrast to the Western dark and gloomy kind of fantasy.
That’s not what anyone meant. You can have any theme, but if the textures are very low-res, then it just universally sucks. For example more than half of night elf hair customization are unusable, because they have 500 pixel textures, and it just looks like crap. Lots of “new” content literally looks glued on and has bad textures. It’s not rly about sparkle. It’s a question of quality
Especially for undead it’s really extreme, where they have 18 hair style options that lok crappy with very low res/ bad design, and then 3 with high res that are very niche for punks
we need proper body types customisation (i dont mean this male/female fiasko we have now as body types).Skinny human, orc or vice versa as an example, undead with postures etc
Well, let me rephrase: mostly medieval fantasy setting. All that futuristic stuff is usually restricted in specific races, like Goblins and Gnomes, and the latter having pink hair is something “in-character”, so to speak, while for Humans, as we have come to know them from the other Warcraft games, are more medieval both in technology and looks.
A fine milking method, but in the end, it gets tiresome. We will not be playing the game by the point they decide to finally fullfill our requests. It shall be too late.
Lacking and full of pointless restrictions .
My favorite is void elves .
They are basically blood elves model , but for some reason they have 1/4th of the customizations of blood elves . For instance small amounts of hair styles .
Than there’s Kultirans and Nightborne who literally have the same face slapped across all models . Not to mention that we have the skinny kultiran model in game ( you know those underfed hunched guys ) , which people were exited about , until we only got the thick Kultiran.
Almost all of the allied races have pathetically few customizations .
Where’s the height slider ?
Where’s the muscles slider ?
Where’s the thickness slider ?
Where’s the boob slider ?
Where’s the skin / hair / eye color slider ?
Why are face variants locked to skin color ?
Why races with basically the same model do not share hair / beard customizations ?
