Cyrillic (Russian) names and apparent issues related to it

LOL, no. I can’t even get my TL3 back.

I have lost mine too and I have no idea where it went. Blizzard didn’t sanction me (if they did, hey never told me as it is not visible on anywhere on notifications, history etc). My TL3 last exactly like 3 months.

Got 12 hour ban back in April.

Russians (or russian speakers) seems to he worse discriminated than any other cultural ethnicity in Warcraft for some reason. But in the end they’re also just people hmm…

You can still get TL3… I got almost a week in august… and I can gif like I’m crazy

There should be a option for all realms to toggle on/off cyrylic, kanji and any other non-english type of letters and when they are turned off - should be translated to english letters automatically (only for receiver - I turned off so I will see ‘normal’ letters)

With the little experience i have with mythic+

I have also begun filtering out people with cyrillic names, and that’s only because from my observation they’re the first to leave and ruin my key if things don’t go smoothly, they even can be the problem that resulted in a wipe.

It’s so bad i usually look them up on Rio just to check if they’re amazing or terrible.

If they’re amazing, they tend to be unforgiving towards mistakes, and from my observation tend to easily rage and quit.

If they’re bad, they usually don’t respond or do things differently the next time.

Not everyone is like that of course, it might even just be me who have that problem. But the fact that their different alphabet makes me notice these things more, is a natural human thing to do if you face the “unkown”

I support the idea of making russian names optional for them, but idk if it’s russian law that prevents it.

I dont know what you’re talking about. Most of time I play in mixed groups: rus, fr, de, br, pol and so on.

We are all just WoW players. Nationality is not relevant to your rio, pvp rank or skills. I saw stupid Russians, i saw stupid French players. But I also played with skillful Polish players and Bulgarians.

I think we should all keep it mind, there are no girls, boys, black or white, rus or french people. All of us are WoW players who play the same game no matter where they live!

We can be judged only based on our ingame issues like rio, pvp rate, raid achievments, gear. Judging people based on their nationality, skin color, religion or language is stupid and unacceptable.

I have no idea what you mean nor how it’s related to anything what I said.

Guys, at first u should ban these type of letters - ÒÓÔ ÕÖ
Idk why u complaining about russian letters, when u have got like those

Others have said they’ve got their TL3 back after having a forum vacation, they said it reset their counter for clocking up the requirements but other than that, they did get it back.

If you drop below the activity level required to maintain level 3 you also drop down to level 2.

I’m suprised neither of you are considered active enough though :open_mouth:

I’ve been told my name means laundry in Russian! In my language it means strength.

But onT; A convesion of cyrillic letters to latin would be good.

I agree with you Лягуш, all sorts of non English letters and various accents is the same. Being Swedish I see letters of my own alphabet misused quite often, sometimes in comic ways. Like someone being called Trojan and puts dots over the o. Tröjan means the sweater, the pullover, not very cool then…
