Adding more customization options is a good thing. People like it, makes them be more creative. Problem is… Blizzard’s decisions are always only 50% done.
Even with Darkfallen customization, you can’t change skin, it’s just somewhat grey with red eyes. You can’t apply skin for Death Knights either. Not to mention that Ren’dorei, sadly, have the most horrible choice of haircuts, leaving only a pair of good ones per gender. =/
Glad to see that the present Lore Custodian, Guardian or Keeper role ActiBlizz hired a few months ago is doing his work.
Working as hard as the average blizzard employee, it seems
I actually just realized.
With Forsaken being the humans previously who’s kingdom was destroyed and they joined the horde. They are ultimately rejected by the Alliance, at least today that is.
With Kaldorei following relatively same fate and with Quel’dorei, how come they as undead (Darkfallen) are treated differently? Or am I wrong in this thought?
I was being sarcastic, but yes. I really doubt they care at this point. They’re trying to salvage a game that’s been at its lowest yet and that has increasing competition from more and more MMO’s.
Because people like to feel special.
And thats why I never tend to try n reprimand/fight any dark concept type char in SW such as DK’s and DH’s/Locks, from my experience they’ll summon a ghoul or demon in the cathederal district, hover around and then refuse any consequences, not really worth it imo.
Considering that the only thing that differentiates a San’layn from any other undead of the Forsaken is their propensity for drinking blood, in Orgrimmar they at least have the excuse of claiming to be merely Forsaken.
Because they don’t approach their living kin immediately following a literal zombie apocalypse and express regret and remorse for their actions in service of the Banshee Queen. Or something.
No, it is not the only thing. It is also the fact that the Forsaken are part of the Horde, while San’Layn are not. For all intents and purposes they are considered Scourge and are likely just as illegal in Orgrimmar as in Stormwind. Obviously that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be able to join up at any point in time, they’ve tried during BfA and failed miserably, but it’s not the case as seen with the Blood Elf questline as well. If anything, San’Layn would be universally considered hostile. And even comparing them with the Forsaken is a bit dodgy, considering the Forsaken aren’t particularly trusted by the traditional Horde races either. It was Cairne’s voice that convinced a very skeptical Thrall to accept them and Shadow’s Rising also shows even more distrust after the recent war and all the Sylvanas shenanigans. You think a San’Layn no one is advocating for would compare ? Doubtful.
Even then, for the sake of argument, Orgrimmar isn’t Stormwind and it’s even less likely San’Layn would be accepted in Stormwind beyond the vampire fetishes of a few roleplayers.
At any rate, there’s no lore to indicate San’Layn acceptance on either side and my example was about the fact that the dark ranger customization (actually darkfallen) for Alliance elves is just a game mechanic until implemented in game storywise. Otherwise we’d also see San’Layn running through Stormwind which is purely ludicrous.
Or following a war in which they were loyal to Sylvanas after being freshly raised for… reasons. Killing their own kin… For reasons. Myeah.
I never said they were part of the Horde. I never said they were not considered Scourge. I never said their presence was not “illegal” in Orgrimmar. I did not compare them to the Forsaken. Not once did I make the assumption or state a San’layn could or would be accepted into the Horde or try to join their ranks.
I said San’layn have the excuse, if nothing else, of being able to claim to be Forsaken because there is no way you would be able to differentiate between a San’layn and a regular undead elf. There is nothing physical that sets them apart from one another.
I did a little digging yesterday and you’re more right than you know. Aside from the popped-collar models of the San’layn princes, they appear as either red eyed Darkfallen or Death Knights.
Red eyed Darkfallen did not appear until BfA, other than the Blood Princes and the Blood Queen, they’ve always had either blue or black eyes.
I wish they’d just stick with one version for the sake of consistency.
San’layn are welcome in the azer’dorei empire, because they are elves, and all elves are welcome there.
No humans allowed.
Humans have to be present where ever elves are, to ensure they arent speaking Darnassian or some other heathen tongue.
You’re allowed to have one.
I’d rather have some dwarves.
We need efficient miners for jewelry!
My simpsons jokes fall on deaf ears. Ironic given the elven excess of ear bulk.
As someone who posts many a Simpsons quote or meme, I think you were too generic.
It might be an out there take, but people should be welcome to RP what they want. Naturally, it’s up to the individual to decide if they want to engage with that person - but if people RP darkfallen in Stormwind, that’s their decision and it’s one that could prompt RP further down the line.
End of the day, it’s about having fun. The customization option is there and as such, people are going to use it to live out their concepts and ideas. I know I will, and don’t see much issue with it bar the usual: that someone could do it badly. But I might as well point at human paladins and make the same argument in that case.
