Dark skinned elfs in shadowlands

…The Alliance Kul Tirans are there for him?

Ok. Great.
That’s irrelevant.

You can’t have everything and expect Blizzard to please every demand.

Not really! If you want to play a purple-skinned orc with yellow dots for example, then WoW isn’t the game for you either.

…Yet!

So I had a nice relaxing time playing Spyro. Then I see that I got a notification in my forum tab of my browser, only to see that one of my posts got hidden. Must’ve offended someone so much that I got mass-flagged. Oh well, whatever.

That the US forums are more full of virtue-signaling creeps than EU, who are still holding on to some kind of normality in most countries and aren’t so easily swayed to think “Oh how stunning and/or brave”.

Pretty sure you have no idea what racism actually is.

Just not on Argent Dawn. Pretty sure if you say anything bad about this, they’ll brand you as irredemably wacist.

That’d be a good idea and all, but what are our options other than make threads and comments on the forums?

That’d be a good idea and all, but I doubt anyone here is a WoW Content Creator popular enough to warrant being invited in a close foreseeable future.

Then it’d be fair to ask them to have a bit more red rather than ebony, no? :stuck_out_tongue:

As much as I can see and agree from where people are coming from when they say “Don’t add more Elves, we have enough of them as it is”, creating a new race of Elves residing in The Maw or the Nosferatu realm sounds a lot more interesting than just saying “Them Belves be black now.”
Heck, could even go so far as to say that prolonged stay in the Nosferatu realm blackens the soul to mirror the gloomy atmosphere… Actually now that I think of it that way, the Nigerian Blood Elves can be passable now.

Buuuuuut chances Blizzard is creatively bankrupt and will think of a weaksauce reasoning for them to be there.

So, it’s okay to discriminate an entire continent?

Dark skinned elves isn’t exactly asking for everything.

And lets get this straight, people didn’t demand dark skinned elves.
They did it as a new cosmetic option and people are so mad about it for absolutely no reason.
It’s literally a colour option.

I think too many cosmetic options can negatively affect a setting, but then there’s little they can really do about it, given enough time.

I mean, look at the amount of ridiculous toys and stuff they’ve added over the years, or like for example the motorbike heirloom mounts.

You got it. It’s a slippery slope. Where does it end? What’s next? Pink fur for tauren to appease the LGBTQ crowd?

I agree. Purple Orcs with yellow dots would do just that.
A natural skin tone option for an elf doesn’t do this whatsoever.

They’re appropriate to the theme of the game.

Black elves are not being added to appease black players or social warriors or anything of the sort.
It’s not about appeasing people.
It’s about cosmetic options and it makes sense.

Dark-skin tones is natural.
Pink isn’t.

Hold up though, elves aren’t real?

Pretty sure they will take the Exile’s Reach excuse to deliver any kind of lore-breaking option.

An example are the Sandfury trolls, wich we know we will be able to play as one of them. They are not part of the Horde, so starting at Darkspear Isle it would make no-sense…BUt now that Exile’s Reach is a thing…a kinda neutral zone full of any kind of races, this is no-longer a problem.

Think about that

Maybe a BElf found himself here and it took too many ultraviolet rays, who know.

As Steazug put it the best;“So you mean afro americans love to look like black caucasians?”

…if you dont know what he implies look at the new Human customization options added.

Since when?

They’re very human-looking.
I am saying their skin tones are representative of real life human skin tones.
That’s obvious, surely.

When the last time you’ve seen a green baby?

No, but it bears saying regardless. What we are discussing is optional content that you can pick and choose from at your leisure.

Why not indeed, I just wanted to be sure that was the case.

I obviously can’t say what Blizzard’s motivations are here, and it’s entirely possible that it all comes down to a shareholder’s meeting. I maintain that unless this is all part of an eldritch ritual intended to summon C’thulhu and the apocalypse, their motivations won’t make any difference to any of us. The customization options on the other hand; well they just might.

There are a lot of people who are quite pleased with the possibilities all the customization provides, and we’re only two days into Alpha. That’s not nothing, and to me, it shows the decision as worthwhile to players.

Now concerning real world overlaps with fantasy, that’s down to personal taste. Not much else to say there.

My tolerance for it is obviously not the same as yours - which is fine - but I do think that you’re in for a hard time if that’s a conceptual dealbreaker to you. We already have a lot of real world cultures reflected in WoW, and it is ultimately from the real world that the game developers draw inspiration. And will continue to draw inspiration in the future.

So, why are they in the game? To RP as a black man? Isn’t blackfacing considered racist by the woke crowd?

Agenda Andy over here.

As far as I’m aware, blood elves don’t exist, whereas humans do!

Purple/pink is a tone for night elves, which are also not real… they can do whatever they want with either because these don’t exist. We can’t discuss elven physiology, because it’s not real. There’s nothing fundamentally ‘wrong’ with dark skinned elves though, don’t get me wrong

So you resort to name calling now…kay. It’s not me who’s playing mental gymnastics here. I just point out the hypocrisy. Although you’re right: black Belfs are not there for the black players. It just looks good for Blizzard’s woke inclusion politics.

Because Exile’s Reach obviously.
This is their way to deliver everything they can, considering you are not considered as a part of a certain clan in the New Player Experience
