So I’ve playing classic leveling up a bunch of characters and I was gonna buy my first mount when I realized I will only be able to get a horse since I play a human. Sure it’s not bad but I really want a saber mount, am I screwed if I didn’t level up doing the Darnassus quests?
I’m really sad if I was dumb enough to not plan this ahead and locked myself out of getting a saber mount since those are my favorites 
Is it too late to get exatled with Darnasuss at level 40 without spending thousands of gold on those turn in quests? Also same question for my level 20 rogue, too late for that as well? I have a 3rd character that’s around level 17 so in worst case scenario I can delete that one and level it back up doing those Darnasuss quests since I really want a human on a saber mount…
I also seen people say that you don’t even get enough rep for doing all the quests and still need to do a bunch of turn ins, also seen people say you will be able to get reputation from Alterac Valley is it true? Because then I can just wait for that to come out.
Sorry if it was long basically I just wanna know what I have to do to get a saber mount on a human, thanks!

It’s impossible to get exalted with another faction at 40. Also, there are several threads like this already.
If you kill lots of orcs and skin them, say 20 green skin leather each day, I can talk about it with Malfurion in the emerald dream.

The rep is severely nerfed compared to the private servers. I did all quests 1-20 in Darnasuss area as a gnome, and a few of the Ashenvale quests. I’m still only 2500/12000. So far away from even revered. You will have to turn in 3 stacks of wool, then silk and mageweave and shiploads of runecloth. Alternative you can take a slower route. Buy seed in Darnasuss and grind a LOT of un 'goro soil. Every 10min you can click a button. If you get lucky you get the special herb that you can turn in for rep.
Yes I have already read them and they just have different answers, like I have seen people say you will be able to get turn-ins from Alterac Valley and then some say AV won’t have any turn-ins for reps.
I would like someone who has done all the Darnassus quests tell me how close they are to exalted. I don’t wanna re-level one of my characters just to find out it that you still won’t be close to get exalted by doing all the Darnassus quests…
I need to turn in exactly 500 stacks of runecloth to get to exalted with darnassus and I did quite alot of darnassus rep gaining quests while lvling.
Runecloth goes for 1.2 g to 1.6g atm
Then add + 900 g and u have an epic saber mount! for only around 1.6k gold!
You get reduced reputation for grey levels, but there are 2 ways to make up for this, the cloth turn ins, of which the runecloth one is repeatable, and turning in materials for the AQ war effort. So no, you will eventually get your mount(s) but it will take a lot longer and cost more in resources
Alright cool, I think I will re-level one of my lower level characters to get as much Darnassus rep as possible. Even if I end up way off exalted it still gonna save me a lot of gold in the end…
getting rep with other alliance factions also gives dranassus a little bit rep as well. but yeah these reps might look hard right now but in a year you will have more than enough runecloth.
They might have changed it now, but about a year ago, you just got a faction tabard of the Alliance faction and for each dungeon mob you kill you will get like 5-10 rep and a bit more for bosses. It’s pretty easy to farm out. I got exalted on all my chars in like a day
Go do a Wetlands deathmarch ASAP with any character and then do all quest from starting area and continue questing in Darkshore, Ashenvale, Stonetalon, Desolace, Feralas, Felwood.
You will need to go to easter kingdoms for few levels every now and then but you will be revered when you hit 40. maybe 10 or 20% into your way to exalted.
dont count on lvl40 night saber, but with all Nightelf quests, you might get exalted by level 60. Being human is also a big help.

Those tabards were added in Cata, they won’t be in Classic.
There is an alternative, not an easy one but you can get the Winterspring Frostsaber which is a very long and hard grind but it gives you an epic saber mount. It will cost you 900 but you will have that gold after the grind, skinning helps too

Don’t you need Exalted for the Tiger Riding needed to use the Frostsaber anyway?
Yes you do need tiger riding for it, the Frostsaber needs exalted Darnassus AND Exalted with winterspring trainers
Questing in darkshore and ashenvale from 12 to 25 will give you quite an amount of rep. Not to mention that it’s the only reasonable levelling route for alliance at all with way more quests and easier grinding.
For non- Elves, right?
Iirc you need to have Tiger Riding (req. Exalted w/Darnassus for non-Elves) and then of course Exalted with Winter Saber Trainers.
That is correct, you need to be able to purchase tiger riding (so night elves can do that normally, or non night elves need to hit exalted with Darnassus) and then when you have exalted with the Winterspring trainers, you can get your frostsaber mount
So if you see a gnome, human or dwarf on one, be sure to salute him!
The most belligerent race of the Alliance gets a +10% Rep bonus so I’ll salute Gnomes and Dwarves +10% more, though
Note that the grind is best done in a Group, and the ‘Collect X Bear Butts’ -part best skipped ASAP after opening up the other Quests - saves a lot of sanity.
