My paladin always DC’s in Razgore Room, My Druid DCs in the first entrance room of AQ20 and the bug drop down area after prophet and before bug trio every single raid practically. This has to be done with some sort of scripting triggers server side that is crashing my client. This is not my ISP. My other windows of of wow if i am multiboxing don’t close. Anyone else had this issue? Any ideas on how to fix it. I have tried removing dbm thinking its a dbm thing but it’s not.
This is something i actually predict and i plan accordingly. My weekly Razgore DC - so i cant’ do orb. My random AQ40 big bug room DC. I already know its going to happen and i have a second window of wow to login to incase i can’t do the reconnect feature to minimize the seconds lost. I like speed running. I have done this too many times for the casual dungeons and drangons experience. My ability to play the game in the way i want to play it is hindered by blizzard lack of interest in fixing these problems. I have met other people that have similar issues in similar places. Things i have tried.
- Disable All Addons
- Reset Router before raid
- Re-install wow(totally fresh no ruminants)
Idk what else to do. This has to be on there radar… idk what logs to look in for a error code or something. If anyone can help me let me know.
No I don’t want to make a ticket - all i get back is copy and pasted slop responses that are automated trying to veer me to lurk around on old and non-applicable support pages instead of contacting blizzard(because contacting blizzard forces a paid employee to have to do something so it’s too expensive.).
So you DC or your client crash? If you crash, replace your computer. If you DC, replace your provider. Why do you think that the problem is on the Blizzard side, if the entire raid does not DC?
Your ISP cannot crash your client - unless you got a real shady one.
So as Op said before: are your client crashing? Or are you disconnecting?
Don’t judge the situation too hastily.
I experienced the same as OP, however pretty much in any zone. At first I thought those are random disconnects, but as I started to think what I were doing, I’ve always got DC’ed when I was a little too efficient. For example, pressing spell buttons in a rapid succession, farming mobs in an area extremely quickly, having Auctinator addon post a lot of stacks for me in a single click or jumping off a cliff. The last one got me thinking, if this has to do with Blizzard’s automated system that boots out characters, that behave strangely. The very same system that used to disconnect players on Undercity elevator (but this part has been added to list of exceptions eventually). I suspect the system mistakenly thinks I am bot and disconnects me to check how I behave afterwards. Because as soon as I get disconnected, I can log in back immediately. I don’t know how bots work, but I think they cannot log in back immediately after getting disconnected (please, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on this one).
You definitely can be disconnected, if cheat system suspects you’re using maphack, that’s old issue. But it’s pretty obvious.
You can also be disconnected, if addon sends too many hidden messages. But absolute majority of properly coded addons don’t do that, and disabling addons will solve this issue.
I’ve never heard of disconnects because you’re “too efficient”. I don’t think that’s a thing. Plenty of players love smashing buttons like it’s the last day.
AH addons can do tenths of AH listings in seconds. This is not about proper coding, the very nature of those addons is to send a lot of requests in rapid succession. But let’s put the obvious aside and focus on my observation with hills and cliffs.
I definitely got disconnected multiple times after taking shortcuts through hills and jumping of cliffs. By that I naturally change my position on Z-axis a lot in short amount of time, and I am pretty sure, that this is a thing Blizzard’s automated system detects.
Pretty sure that they send one request an the server sends a data block these days. Not seen multiple requests in a fe years. May be wrong though.
There used to be a trick where you jump off of Stormwind mage tower straight toward a tree, and you remained in the air, “running” toward the trade district until you dropped somewhere close to the tunnel/gate to the canal district. This had about 50/50 chance of DCing you as you lost altitude. There is some cheat detection thing for sure that disconnects you during “weird” z-axis behaviour.
Yesterday, I was lucky to find a bot-free layer so I decided to take maximum of the situation and do really intense gold farm for 2 hours straight without breaks. The farm involves killing a lot of mobs one by one in a specific zone, so I came fully world buffed to have zero downtime. I got disconnected three times during this 2 hour farm, all three were actually in combat. I don’t know what to say, it could be an addon (Minimap Alerts is the only one that comes to my mind in this case) or a cheat detection system mistaking me for a bot. I don’t have any other explanation. But I am not really inclined to the addon theory, because a faulty addon usually caused crashes to desktop. What I get are disconnects to main loging screen.
