I understand what your saying so I don’t mean this response in a negative way to you but I think this topic was created to have some sort of a response from blizzard not just a ‘blue post.’
As Vintoleth stated in an earlier post he/she has submitted a ticket directly to Blizzard regarding this issue and was told, open a topic on the forums.
I was just simply pointing out that even though this is a serious issue for 100s or 1000s of players they won’t even acknowledge it but comment on other hypothetical topics.
go to 51:00 - 51:30. this is what Ion thinks of EU players.
hello mate i am well ty. took 6 months off cause, well, imo bfa is poor. would have stayed for classic (and been playing it the last 3 weeks) but didn’t think blizz deserved any funds for those 6 months. hope you are well and safe in these current times.
and on that note, hope everyone is well and safe.
you are correct. i did originally make a ticket. i dont want a blue, and tbh i think any blue now wont be helpful. i just want this problem fixed.
i have also sent about 4-5 emails to the community team. the last was on 2019-11-13 and this was the reply i got:
> Hello,
**> ** > Apologies for the very late reply to this but there’s been a lot of things going on internally that meant this mailbox wasn’t being actively monitored as much anymore. Also, truthfully, we didn’t really have much in the way of an update for you.
**> ** > However, as you may have seen at BlizzCon this year – Ion Hazzikostas said during the WoW Q&A that discussions concerning further realm connections will take place in the coming weeks and months. While we can’t promise anything at this stage, we have been monitoring the status of all the EU realms and will be using this data in these discussions.
**> ** > Obviously, as the process of connecting realms can be quite disruptive, we will publicly communicate any planned connections before they happen.
**> ** > Kind regards,

i would have said something on twitter too, but i dont have an account and am not linking my phone to one. besides, someone linked this thread to Ion and blizz on twitter. punyelf, or shammoz or someone. cant remember
where else can we honestly bring this up blizzard? blizzcon? well, we tried that last year!!!
I wouldn’t say the US forums are that much different, to me they feel slightly worse on that subject. Reflection of society and all that…
It was just a cheap dig of Ion at the time. And if it were that much of a problem they could have added a suggestion forum and moderate the bejesus out of it.
I think I’ve spent over 100 euros on getting characters off Ghostlands.
This is bad for me, because now I have a lingering cynicism about customer services, and it’s bad for Ghostlands which lost an active player - is it good for Blizzard? I’m not even sure. What on earth would the new player experience be like if they landed on GL/DB? Would they be likely to continue their sub, or would they decide that this game is dead and bail out before they got too deep? Were my hundred beans worth it in the long run?
Shocking that the problem has been acknowledged for so long with absolutely no action being taken.
But how many random newbies might any given player talk to during their time? How many people might be convinced to stay in WoW if the population wasn’t spread so thin?
Blizz better be sure that I have never contributed to keeping even 1 player in the game for it to be better to take my transfer money than to have that other person subbed for a year.
Exactly, it’s more the principal of poor customer service. I don’t really play this character anymore and like I said I have given in and moved some off here BUT this issue of low pop realms has caused me to unsubscribe in the past.
Like I said I’m a massive altaholic, can’t pick a ‘main’ just got 3 who I play more often and they are the characters I transferred off frostehisper but I also am a casual player with not massive amounts of spare time so I would love to have all my chars on one decent server.
This has led me to quit the game before as I am fed up with wanting to play some of my characters that are still on FW but get so annoyed at the state of the server I just don’t other playing at all and unsub.
So while they gained some money on my transfers they also lost on several months worth of subs. Also like someone said if a new player joined one of these servers they would quit within weeks.
I see Alewín you transferred to AD, which is a full server, I think? Which is what everyone who does pay for a transfer will do, move to a full server rather than risk ending up on a dead one again.
This then creates blizz the issues of server crashes and lag ect. If they just merged enough servers so that there was no low pop anymore only all high pop that would spread the players more even and I believe everyone would be happy
I second this. i just got back to game and it’s so dead. You can see lots of people in the main hub but few of them are from DF/ER. Loads from Defias, AD and others. I sat in the main hub for hours while doing stuff around the house, not a single thing was said in chat, no guilds recruiting, nothing going on. Pretending a server is full because Blizzard fill it with people from other servers who you can only have limited interactions with is just a lie.
true. what really IS a full server anymore? while my original, and my main servers are low/medium (lol) i do have alliance toons on silvermoon. with the exception the AH lag, i’ve NEVER experienced lag or queues on any of them. think first was made in cata. and im guessing the new AH design would get rid of that lag too, so yeah. even being on a full server doesn’t mean lag/queues.
obviously this may change for a VERY short time during new content drops, but the interest needs to be there. i dont think the interest has been high enough to cause this for most content drops since Legion except the Jaina raid maybe, but even then people were annoyed having to wait 6+ weeks for it to come out AFTER the main patch released.
AD definitely doesn’t have queues all the time. The morning of a new patch we might queue for… a minute? Two? Or not. I expect the opening of Shadowlands will bring queues of 30 minutes or so, for the first week. But these are transient events and quickly forgotten.
We do get lag, sometimes, particularly in Stormwind - but so what? It’s a city. We don’t need to be button bashing. Out in the open world, no lag. I assume Silvermoon, Ravencrest and similar are the same.
In exchange, you get bustling cities and reassurance that other players exist. You get stupid toys going off in the AH, and you actually recognise guilds and players because you keep seeing them over and over. You get dozens, maybe hundreds of guilds, and a chance to find one that fits you and your goals, opening up the social side of the game that a lot of people are missing on dead realms. Communities have helped, but there’s still a bunch of benefits to a decent guild, and unless they make guilds crossrealm, it’s always going to be a sticking point.
Well, probably… but they really should do something. I feel bad for new players that dont check servers before joining one. Maybe they join the servers marked «new player» just to find they are close to dead and hard to find decent guilds. Do something blizz, offer some free transfers, merge some low pop servers with medium ones, shut down dead servers. Just do something!
