Dear Healers (regarding Stonevault.)

On the first boss (E.D.N.A) don’t just randomly dispel https://www.wowhead.com/spell=424889/seismic-reverberation (the debuff)
as it gives
https://www.wowhead.com/spell=424893/stone-shield (a 50% damage reduction for 6 seconds when dispelled)

you’re meant to dispel it just before the tankbuster. The hint is the 50% damage reduction part. It’s mind boggling that people in keys over 10 many still have no clue. When you dispel it you can even see it on your frames…

really tired of asking and im sure the tank community is in general, prefer not to burn cds for no reason

The dungeon journal is legit useless and most people don’t use it at all.

How’s a healer to know what the debuff does, and what boons it grants other than being a big NO on their vuhdo like addon? It’s not like they’ve time to sit through and read the tooltips mid fight.

It’s on Blizzard for not being clear (whatsoever) with their mechanics in general tbh.

it would appear on their frames, the buff.

It’s also just logic, a debuff gets put on the tank that does practically 0 damage and lasts for 30 seconds. It doesn’t explode or seem to do anything major when dispelled. No suspicion at all?. That’s what made me look at it. Just read what it does

Probably depends on what UI you use. I didnt know what it did until my tank got oneshot and then i learnt.

You genuinely think, with the amount of cognitive load both healers and tanks (tbh also DPS) has, slipups aren’t happening and the primal “healer brain” isn’t taking over?

Big bad is bad and the natural reaction is to stop it.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t calculate your play but too much garbage is going on at the same time, mistakes are bound to happen, a lot. Especially this horrid season.

It gets put on by an ability that does massive damage, and people assume it’s some kind of physical damage taken debuff like 100 similar effects.
I knew about it from the start because I read it somewhere, but this and the tankbuster in dawnbreaker first boss are extremely unintuitive.

This isn’t anything that requires any skill at all. It’s something basic, like holding threat or remembering to equip a weapon. It’s the minimum bar needed to do the dungeon at any kind of level, if it’s not being done it’s a failed mechanic.

Should i start standing on stuff on the floor? Should i not use damage reductions and get one shot?

Then if you are unsure, read the boss ability. It’s a click or 2 away

Unsure about what?

“I healed the tank to 100% and he died to a boss mechanic. His fault”

As i said, i was suspicious of the debuff as it didn’t seem to do anything. Every mechanic does something. It’s illogical

Well if u’re a healer and just dispell it instantly it doesnt really have the time to do anything. Most healers are just conditioned to dispel asap (until you blow up the raid by dispelling).

Well, i hope with Blizzard throwing curveballs the community learns ><

I think many of us learns by messing it up once, then look up what went wrong or be told what we did wrong.

I have a wa now that lets me know when i need to dispel on this boss so i wont mess it up anymore.

If there’s no visual that suggests a more complex mechanic (like an add reaching the tank, or a soak circle around them), 99% of the time a tank dying means the tank is bad, and people won’t look for a mechanic they might have failed.

A guildmate tank just learn it to me few days ago and I was like discovering Fire

Now I dispel propely to give the benefit to the tank as well.

But basicaly this Mechanic isnt intuitive for healer

This mechanic is for a healer almost as horrible as a mechanic that wants players to be kept at low health because the boss leeches a percentage of currentHP from players and keeping them high heals the boss more while also requiring even harsher hps.

Not useless at all, atleast explain what the bosses are doing.

Runs would be better if people would spend 3-5 mins to read it.

It really isn’t, tank uses defensives for the first smash, then thereas just a miniscule DoT on the tank, that you dispell before 2nd smash, so on and so forth, repeat.

It says boss use X ability but not at what threshold or under which conditions. And then it’s not specific on what X ability does.

Arakara last boss on M0 rings a bell. What a major chaos hell that was trying to figure out the first time without going on YouTube. The dungeon journal didn’t help at all.

I learned in the 2nd week or so. But i see a debuff with a dot attached and i just dispell instant
