Death Knights, how do you find roleplay and roleplay outside of specific Death Knight guilds or hubs?

Death Knights go wherever they have interests in. And how about certain players stop spreading the nonsense that an Ebon Blade tabard (or any neutral tabard) gets them free access to all areas regardless of how the locals feel about it.

I’m throwing out a really wild idea here so bear with me: what about a MU Laughing Skull DK?

So you can say IC “If you gotta go, go with a smiiiile!”?

No. I mean a proper Laughing Skull.

Also I’d rather quote Ledger over Nicholson.

Most of the LS from the MU remained in Outland.
Can be a done, but difficult I’d say!

I’m going to mimic Akamito and pose a question on Death Knight backgrounds:

My current idea is to have a Warcraft 3 influenced Paladin who died defending Lordaeron around the time Gavinrad the Dire and the others were being picked off and he was then later raised to serve in Acherus. The immediate problem I encounter right now is asking “Why would this heavily pious man not just off himself at the first opportunity, why would he continue to live on?” thankfully it seems to be a question a lot of people are struggling with so I’ll throw my hat into the ring as well.

I mean there are often two different approaches to this.

Either the Death Knights are changed by their new powers and became quite a different person.

Or you have people who are more like their former self but sees the potential in their newgained powers.

Thassarian could be a example of that.

Angelus here is a former Knight of the Silver Hand and he kinda accepted his fate with the dark forces and actually deem he have managed to do more ‘‘good’’ with necromancy than he ever achieved with the light.

But the most important aspect is that undeath do affect your morals which is why several Death Knights can do quite evil deeds but believing it is for the best.

Another aspect to keep in mind regarding this if you feel that your character absolutely wouldn’t just change is that, during the events of the DK starting zone, the weak-willed DKs get sorted out right away. If your character is from that time it stands to reason that their piousness wasn’t absolute.

That certainly does sound like a way to go for it, his piousness being broken over time as he commits acts in the name of the Lich King then wondering where he goes once broken free, trying to reclaim some sort of notion of piousness. Thanks for the advice Angelus and Tyreis.

Oh yeah that is a very important aspect to take into account as well that once you are raised you are under the control of the Lich King so he could actually been rather surprised over the deeds he did during the control by the Lich King due to catering towards the darker desires inside you.

There are plenty of ways to go and many NPC’s to support different directions really but majority of Death Knights seems to have good intentions but are morally corrupted by their undeath state and powers.

It is canon, that those weak willed and unfitting was killed. You as a player actually kill one yourself. It is the 4th quest of DK’s start questline. You are ordered by Instructor Razuvious to sate on someone who were deemed “unworthy of the dark brotherhood.”

Edit: Just for more info. The “knight” you are supposed to kill will say a couple of things like “I was a soldier of the Light once… Look at what I have become…” and “They brand me unworthy? I will show them unworthy!”. The progress text is even " Two lives, one key… Do not fail me, ."

Do a big-brain move instead. RP a character RPing as a Deathknight. Get blue contact lenses and install a fan hidden in your hood, then craft the biggest, most ridiculous cosplay out of cardboard with lots of skulls on it along with a “rune(foam)blade” and read lines writen in the palm of your hand.
-“Suffer… looks into palm well.”
“Life is a prison and we all serve our time.”
“When you look into the abyss long enough…”
“We live in a society.”
