Also, having gay friends doesn’t immediately make you not a homophobe. It’s the same old «I’m not racist, my cousin is married to a black man.»
Expecting a gay character to act a certain way, such hand twirling, being flamboyant, throwing out a «honey, mama, darling, queen» and generally being a stereotype is homophobic.

The fact that you didn’t know the characters were gay is irrelevant, you walk past and interact with loads of gay people irl, without you knowing… you have friends irl, who are gay, without you knowing…for all we know, you yourself are in massive denial, which is why these characters scare you.

Funny story: i once lived with me ex and gay couple in an apartment. I have first friends visiting this place and they were asking about these guys…i was like dude they so normal you never realise they are gay. Then one of them opened the door and greet them with most “gayish” tone of voice you can imagine…everybody burst laughing and i have to explain. Was 110% ankward but funny story.
It’d be fine if it had any actual set-up but it doesn’t. They forced it in a book which most people won’t ever read and now we go from two alpha male chads to guys who are completely unrecognisable from who they were in BFA because they made their personalities “We’re gay”.
I’d be equally against it if they forced two straight characters into a relationship and made their personality “We’re a couple!!!”
That’s not how real life works. There’s 50 yr olds coming out as gay because society nowadays is more accepting and they finally muster the courage to be true to themselves.
Homophobia is not a thing in WoW, thats cannon coming from Steve Denuser himself sooo no reason to stay in the closet.
That’s not the circumstances in Azeroth, though. As established there’s no such societal barriers. So if they were like that, they’d have come out long ago. Not both having been well established as having strong attraction to women and NONE to men.

I know their definition, you must agree and support some of them 100% on everything they think, if you support and agree with them only 90% then you are homophobic .
Unfortunately. If they’d just actually gave it some real build-up and kept them themselves I wouldn’t have any issue with it. Alas… they just hamfisted and made them homosexual caricatures. :l
