Death should be more punishing - especially in warmode

Given the size of DF zones and how slowly we ghost-fly this is quite irriating just now.

Someone seems to want to bring in retail some of the suffering of the world buff dispelling/ganking from classic

how can you even say that, when there are scenarios where you kill someone in a fair 1v1 combat lets say, and then you reimained with 20 % hp, and he respawns in like 10 seconds with full hp and kills you back? You haven’t played much world pvp content it seems. That happens a lot.

Or at least it used to happen when we had enough players to play, haha. Now every zone is dead anyway.

There are no fair 1v1 combats in wow. Allthough, i am not surprised this hearing from a rogue :grin:

A little unfair to me. I expect you play a rogue so thats easy to say when you can just escape from a fight when you nearly die. Would you suggest the same if you play a class that can’t just go in stealth and has to run to the closest big city around? I am not a pvp player at all. Hate it to get hunted.

I played mostly as a DH in DF. So a non stealth class. Rogue just used to be my main class.

And be real, who cares about rogues anymore. Its not like rogues in open world are a big threat. You can just 1 sec cast your 5341213123 % speed flying mount and run away from a fight you dont want. That’s dumb too, but that’s a different topic.

It actually happens a lot to just 1v1 someone in the open world. Its not like we interact with lots of players everywhere, haha. Fights usually happens when 2 players that likes to fight find eachother. Even in warmode, when someone dont wanna fight, he can just take off with 312312412% speed.

That is why i said “how much in favor of the aggressor you want to be”, Blizzard current design obviously don’t want to have a fight between the same 2 people go on again and again unless both of them want to.

well, that’s why warmode exists. If anyone dont like getting attacked, just dont activate warmode. It should never be more convenient to leave a fight you dont wanna, as long as you activate your warmode. If everyone gets to chose their fights, noone will actually fight anymore. That’s the whole point of warmode.

But it isn’t fair.
And basically nobody is back in 10 seconds. Or you are fighting next to a spawn point. What is not an exageration is that you are back at full health in 10 seconds just by eating food of 4 gold each.

Demanding a change to be made that affects everyone for yourself. Is selfish. Regsrdless of what ur arguing for

why? It affects me too. Its not like I love playing with debuffs after dying. But i’m thinking more out of the box, for the whole health of the game. Not just my own good.

Not rly, by any reality players are demanding less consequences, not more. If isnt good for the health of the game if more players quit then stay becsuse of a change

When you make chars unplayable for a certain amount of time people just press “exit game”.

“reality players” that asked for less consequiences almost killed the game. Haha. Be real. We had enough of that. And yes, I know the remaining retail players are that kind of players that likes everything easy on their table and hate working for anything.

But they are just the majority out of a minority. The minority that liked this direction wow took and stayed here. That’s why 90 % of actual retail players likes less consequinces. But wow wont survive just with you guys. We need our legacy players back.

lol nothing to do with it being easier, Its rly not going to affect many players at all making levelling harder.

however, Open world PvP has proven to be the long living absolute upset, it caused over half the classic playerbase to immediately quit the game the moment it rose.

Ganking one another is a form of grief, and aiding that will achieve nothing but the absolute death of Warmode entirely because even those who want to Pvp will reliese how much of a inconvience seriously being punished will be.

Ur not asking for the game to be harder. ur asking for the consequences of deaths to be steeper. a Direct conflict with the entry curve to the game for new players.

Look at classic. We get corpse camped there by high levels and nobody cares. They still playing. Sure its frustrating for a while, but its part of the fun and the freedom the game offers. Not everything needs to be “fixed” like they do in retail. Players are not so easily offended as retail players are.

if ur so FOR the idea of open world being harder, why not just buff the monsters lol.

u just wanna grief players open world and feel like u really get to them lmfao. and using hardcore mode as a example is beyond a joke. its fine when thinks are OFFERED as a option.

hardcore mode doesnt affect any player outside those who OPT into mode.

Well, i had my couple of months in vanilla (or whatever the first game is called), and when i got corpse camped i logged out and walked to the TV and logged in the next day. I can hardly say i played WoW back then, those 2 months do not really count. But also cant say it was a positive experience.

This is the entire premise of World PvP tho. People gank unsuspecting preys because they CHOOSE to fight with the effect of surprise over their victim.

It’s only the attacked that can’t decide what fight to pick and unless the attacker is a total ape, the surprise effect usually leads to victory.

Sure, but apparently people that likes getting attacked may not enjoy being disrupted for the rest of their playtime.

And lets be honest, that is what WPvP/Ganking is all about. It is never about fair fights, is wanting to disrupt others till they rage most of the time.

And that is why Gankers, aka “WPvP enjoyers” are all so against QoL in favor of the attacked.

Warmode was created as a Option to attempt to entice PvE Players to partake in PvP Activities. the concept was they didnt have to comitt always so it might be fun during the big hours of play to merc each other for fun.

U want to take that philosphy and Drive out the PvE Audience and think thats Ok, all ur going to achieve is what PvP Servers did, and thats absolute death and eventual removal of the game mode.

weather u like it or not, Warmode depends on PvE Players Opting in also. and if u make griefing a popular sport by enticing the concept of how much u as a player can impact on anothers playtime, u’ll have nothing but spawn camping.

Regardless to any confines. Open world PvP shouldnt have Consequences. its a FUN MODE, not for competitive gameplay.

Sure PvE Deaths u can lose exp, it rly wouldnt matter, in a PvE Situation, however players Should not be egged on to grief one another.
