Back in 2015, someone asked if gambling was allowed and the blue post said it was an unsupported transaction and it might be reportable.
Now by the end of 2019 many many many players are advertising death rolls. Is it allowed now? or they don’t know, don’t care?
I am reporting each one of them, stating it is because they are Gambling, but even famous YouTubers are in this trend.

Im not sure tho, even famous twitch streamers(and yes, u know them already, all of them) are doing this. In my opinion, this shouldnt be illegal but that is just me
To my knowledge, advertising it as a kind of “casino” thing is against the rules. But actually doing it? How on earth are Blizzard going to enforce that?
My guildies do deathrolling whilst waiting for people to ress during raids. It’s actually quite fun, aspecially when you get 30 people laughing at your bad roll.
Play the game, instead of trying to ruin someone else’s fun.
I have not seen deathrolls in retail, in years. It seems to me that now that the vanilla crowd is back they are bringing the gambling in-game back.
Advertising is i guess. But why the need to report them? they dont harm other players
Why would you report someone for something that does not affect you? You must be delightful at parties.
dunno but technicly is in game transaction so no reason to be ilegal.

I do it because it is against the rules, plain and simple.
If a blue says it otherwise in 2019 I might not do it again, but as far as i know you are advertising a kind of Casino.

^ Pretty much this, the transaction even requires double prompt for accept. I see nothing wrong about Deathroll gambling, I don’t do it myself, because I don’t want to potentially lose my gold. x)

Holding a public casino is.
I mean, whenever you kill a boss you gamble on seeing your loot drop, when it drops you gamble too get said item. WoW is all about gambling. Just don’t be so public about it, or organize multiple gambling areas where there is a “house” winning on transactions being done.

Yes, I think you are right. Then spamming the deathrolls in trade chat is against TOS, but playing with your pals, asking other players in public should be fine.
@Kaizem I care when I see part of the population braking an old rule almost forgotten.
But the post you quoted in your initial post clearly says that deathrolling isn’t against the rules, but advertising oneself as a casino is.
By all means, report the deathrollers that spam trade and world channels. But reporting somebody for asking their friend if they want to do it is just plain old silly.

If you report players for a simple thing like this, then you should also be the first one to storm ActivisionBlizzard’s HQ in protest of RNG which is just another form of gambling.
At least with players gambling there is player interaction, much less can be said by some of the RNG features.
