Every MC raid is starved for Warlocks so I vote Warlock

Hunter is a more enjoyable class for the majority of players. Warlocks are a lot less valuable after MC for pugs.

u can use a warrior or keep the ignite mage alive for that. still u dont need or necessarily want more than 2 locks for any raid, which means no CoE. There is also barely any hit gear until ZG/AQ. if u wanna play lock for anything other than a primarily support role to mages & warriors you would need a raid of more than 3 locks and a SP - Hunter will generally be much more enjoyable unless u are the one pulling for a speedrun

I deadass waited 25 minutes for a 2nd warlock last Saturday in my MC PUG.
I feel like any warlock right now must be getting spammed by whispers and invites.

yes lock is a great choice if u want gear. but playing solo lock is boring and u dont need 2 locks. CoE is never gonna save u 20 min of MC

Since you post from a hunter char, Id say warlock this time.

Both are great choices, but would say hunter, although you won’t mistake with either.
When we got fresh servers, I was debating between Warlock and Hunter, but since I already played Hunter in 2019, decided to try something else this time.
Both classes are great, depends on the playstyle, fantasy and what suits you more. There’s no wrong choice, pick what you like more. The more you enjoy, the more you will have fun, put investment and learn about it.

I never tried both, want to make it fun letting the community choose for me.
I got some more questions in mind that I will ask and let the community decide.

Play a warlock.
- interesting class fantasy of enslaving demons and using fel without falling victim to it
- needed and desired in raids, more so than a hunter.
- will become absolute beast in tbc and potentially wrath while hunter is forever worst of pure dps classes.
- the prevailing mindset and expectation in wow is warlock players are mature, quiet but capable, hunters are idiots.
- hunter is less “finished”, pet skills and talents are a mess, stable is ridiculously small, there is a lot of hidden info you have to go to sites like petopia to learn, no hunter spec is distinct or really even finished, except arguably beastmaster which is only good for leveling.
- as a hunter in serious raiding you will always be the last priority for gear except maybe on specific ranged weapon

Warlock, people will love you when you summon them to dungeons/raids or distant zones. In battlegrounds you don’t have to do much, just apply your dots and enjoy the results. The class mounts are the best in game (before lightforged draenei paladins but that’s not yet available in Classic).

Actually about to post 2nd post asking if horde or alliance and if I go hardcore or regular classic
