But where is the distinction between them?

Why are Void Elves more “High Elf” than Void Elf?

Void Elves need to get more VOID features, since that is what they are. We’ve got the High Elf features on both sides - it’s time to actually get stuff for VOID elves. Not high elves, which we’ve already got.
Case-in-point - my warrior.

The blood elves hair styles are already there though. And would be an easy addition to make… But sure why not have both? For both the high elf and void elf fans.

Because High Elf features are already here now.
Hair colours and skin tones are what makes the high elf.

Now, it’s time for the Void Elf side to get some love.

Well when you say it like that, Sounds fair. I can get behind that, It’s not dismissing either or outright.

It would be nice to have a face full of tentacles, like the K’thir have or a tentacle arm Ra got after joined N’Zoth; Eye of N’zoth like exta eyes on various places (bit like Azshara) monstorous legs what the N’raqi faceless ones have, insectoid extra limbs with lethal pincers what the C’Traxxi have on their back or wings what the various aqir subspecies have (and the druid shoulder… I think it is druid one, or shaman?) More more more void-tentacles like our hair… Void-effects like what we had with the Old God Corruption powers…
But then I guess our Ren’dorei would be killed on sight…

Nobody here can tell me that blood elf hairstyles are needed to make my Warrior look anymore like a High Elf. You just can’t:

It’s not hairstyles that are needed - it’s down to the players to stop having their hands held and be creative with their transmogs.

Not going to tell you that, Don’t worry  Thats a great looking High elf there.

I’d love for all of these things myself as well, I just don’t want to be balding on top of it. I don’t think that is an unreasonable demand and costs no real resources.

I don’t mean to be mean, but… Could be a little better to be honest. Other void elf hairstyles would also work much worse, and getting limited to 1 or 2 hairstyles is a little too… well, little.

Other hairstyles for void elf females are very puff (too much a lot of times), and males have to deal with looking like they are balding.

Honestly I’m all for unique hair. But I don’t want it to be like dark irons who pretty much got only this “crazy” looking (don’t mean to berate anyone’s style!) hair and nothing “normal”.

But “a little better” isn’t enough to constitute mixing all void elf and blood elf hairstyles.

Their are ways and means in how we can be High Elves - it’s down to us to be creative.
Plus, only 2 or 3 options…I think that’s a general point. A few high elf features on both sides.

As I said, I can make a High Elf Warrior and make her look amazing as a High Elf. It is now time for Void-based features for VOID Elves.
I do have a Void Elf Warlock who is so much more limited in terms of looking like a Ren’dorei, than my Warrior who IS a Quel’dorei.

Here’s the language you are using.

“Why can’t X get things from Y and Y get nothing in return”
instead of
“Why can’t X get things from Y”
without the need to mention Y not getting anything.

People aren’t asking for blood elves to not get anything in return. Nor for them to not get something new. This really isn’t about hurting them, just improving another race who’s hairlines desperately need it.

Improving, by putting a big focus on void features.

That is where the direction should be.

And it won’t stop with high elf fans - I’m sorry, but I don’t personally believe it. Because every single little thing Blood Elves get, high elf fans are “We need that as well, for Void Elves!” I find that to be very toxic and then high elf fans play the victim card.

Void Elves should be getting a large bulk of void features. 80% of void elf features should now be void based. That 20% of the features are for High Elves, which we’ve got.
Void Elves are only 20% complete in terms of new features. We now need the 80% of void based features to come for the Ren’dorei - the race that is all about the Void.

I used those words as I was trying to be polite. Could have also said that the hair clips horribly with the mask part of the helmet, which isn’t the case with a lot of other hairstyles.

I mean sure? But there’s not anyone asking for new resources and time in regards to design and all that to be put into these new high elf stuff. Another thing is that I haven’t noticed facial hair or piercings being mentioned. Haircolor ain’t that much if the hair ain’t of much use itself.

And sure, I’m all for those new options. Would be really cool. However when it comes to duplicating hairstyles, that would not take much effort when you already have models that share a skeleton.

I would actually be for sharing hair - both genders and all races as it is in FF. You can style your hair however you want, that isn’t a racial thing, plus when it comes to the culture behind hair, the races have been among each other for a long time now. I’m sure that could mean that individuals would see things they like and apply it to themselves even if the culture would not come from their own race.

Majority of blood elf hairstyles - it clips. Can confirm as a Blood Elf Paladin player.

The rest of your post is just basically “All races are no longer distinct. Everyone can look like everyone else.”

High Elf fans really need to stop this. They’re delusional in trying to turn Void Elves into High Elves.

Alliance: we want high elves with unique hairstyles like half braids and tattoos.

Game: high elves are dead, go play blood elves.

Also Game: gives blue skinned shadow priest elves who came out of nowhere, and are very low in population.

Alliance: that’s not what we asked for! Since Alleria is a void elf, give us natural skins, blonde hair, and good hairstyles.

Game: gives natural skin colors only.

Alliance: wow…… thanks. This natural skin will go amazing with my purple hair and tentacles  I’m a half human half night elf now.

Game: gives natural hair colors

So yes, I don’t blame high elf fans using the void elf model to play High elves.

I do however, disagree with borrowing Blood elf hairstyles. That’s too much.

Can confirm. The tiara hair goes inside my shoulders. That has to be painful

Most people don’t care about void features. They just want to look pretty in their MMO or multiplayer game of choice. It is why blood elves are popular and why fans of high elves want said race or more normal customization options to void. It has nothing to do with lore.

yes more hairstyles please

i like most of the existing ones now that i can hide the tentacles, but there aren’t very many

also let me have blueberry mode as a skin type please and thank you

It has been more like whining and complaining. You make it sound like there wasn’t a heaping dollop of greedy “I want, I want” entitlement. Not saying that was everyone, but it sure was a lot of them!

Void Elves as the best Blizzard could do, since the feasible playable population of High Elves were either dead or on the Horde-side. They didn’t want the game to turn into World of Aryian-mutant-troll-craft.

Void Elves are still Void Elves and it’s stupid that the High Elf fans are slowly trying to erase them in all but name as if they’re creeping up the West Bank.

The High Elf fans are acting like spoilt brats and Blizzard is caving in. It’s almost like the moving, “The Skin I Live In”. It’s just sad.
