There’s a huge difference between gatekeeping rewards and having rewards that need to be earned. The achievement said to complete all fated raids. It didn’t mention “on normal or higher”, and then it begs the question… why is it available in normal, but not in LFR, considering normal is usually easier than LFR?
This mount being available in LFR would be a good way to bring people back to the game and encourage them to participate in activities. It is already a participation trophy anyway, because it is obtainable on normal, so who cares?
The difference between the slime cat and the mythic jailer mount is that the slime cat is a FOMO participation reward and the jailer mount is more or less a status symbol. They are not comparable.
Not gonna take the bait but all i’ll say is there are variables. Some of these friends may not like the others, may not have the same schedules, may not want to commit to scheduled raiding, people got their reasons. We don’t have a friendship moose-like community so they’ll just feel excluded over it. Simple as that really.
This would apply if we were talking about something you have to work for, but the cat is more like a participation trophy. All it means is you played during SL S4. I know the LFR folks might as well pug normal, but at the same time the LFR folks might as well get the cat from doing LFR. It’s not something that would make the social prestige of the player base crumble or anything.
And if we think LFR shouldn’t reward nice things to those who favour that mode, it’d be best to remove LFR entirely.
It’s not like pugging a normal raid is that much different from LFR if we’re talking about social interactions. You apply, get your summon, press the buttons.
No social interaction that happens in normal pugs can’t happen just as much in LFR. It depends more on the group you end up with, rather than the mode per se.
Not the social interactivity, but, you know, trying to find a guild and like-minded people to achieve a set of goals, as was the intention point of MMOs in years gone by.
