I’m not saying that isn’t good, but I don’t see how people who have never found reasons enough to do normal, and always stuck to LFR, are suddenly going to join raiding teams and become invested in the raiding culture, because of the cat.
Maybe they will, in which case great, but I’m inclined to believe there’s a lot of people who do LFR because that’s their preferred way of playing the game. Which is also fine, MMORPGs always had a lot of people, maybe the majority, who played mostly alone. If that’s how people like to play, and they wouldn’t become more social anyway, let them have their fun and their feeling of accomplishment, what’s the harm?

There is no harm but that’s not the point.
Let’s drop KSM mount down to Heroics because as we all know, people get rejected and they can’t often play enough to get +15, it’s really unfair and not good for the game. Actually, I think we need to increase the drop rate of mounts like, say, Invincible. Again, it is hugely unfair that this large time investment has resulted in a desired mount not dropping, Blizzard is wasting my time and money, it needs to be changed to a 50% drop rate.
I hope you understand where I am going with this.

Its a game. You put effort in a game. A rhing that should be fun.
I have 330 mounts. Many with low droprate. But sincerely if they would rise the % of the drop i wont be ashamed by this.

You are not special cuz you put effort in group content… wow is good because cater diff people.
With this trend wow will exists just for monomaniacal people running just group content.
They already scrapped many side activities some ppl enjoy.

I think I do, but I’m not arguing for the cheapening of important rewards. Going with your example, the effort and knowledge of the game required to get KSM aren’t even remotely comparable to doing Heroics. Important feats rewarding exclusive, prestigious loot are good and should stay. What I’m saying is the cat is not a prestigious reward, and less difficult activities should reward less important loot, not barely anything.
E.g. I think it’d be good to have a different title awarded from each difficulty, including LFR. Or differently coloured mounts, much like gear works now. Or different drop rates for the same cosmetic reward.
What matters to me is that the people who enjoy LFR and aren’t interested in higher difficulty levels, feel accomplished and rewarded for their play style of choice. Not necessarily with the cat, although it is trivial enough imo. The same applies to people who want to focus on professions, on random BGs, on exploration and so on.
And I don’t mean it as a freebie, but as an encouragement to work towards a goal, for those people who don’t enjoy higher goals anyway.
