please stop with numbers. Most of us donât care if we are the nr1 dps class.
We are talking about the gameplay and how unfun it is for âmostâ of us who have been playing warlock since forever.
I like my Warlock a lot, and im playing Demonoligy, dps seems fine if you dont have to move a lot, something blizzard should do about for the rest I love it. maybe give back tallent allows moving while casting but 50% slower movement speed would be good fix on movement issues.

Youâre doing good in raids. Everywhere else no one really needs you. I see their solution next patch is to give us 10% stamina. Might as well re-roll or proceed to delete this junk class.
Demo warlock seems fine to me⊠but maybe thatâs cause my main is a BM HunterâŠ
While i havenât done a lot of end game content atm with the lock ( only dinged 120 like 6 hours playtime ago), i do find affliction to be a nice spec. I cant really compare it with earlier expansions, cause the last time i really played it was in wotlk, but it seems fine to me regarding playstyle ( if u compare it with destro) its not a 2/3 button smash spec, it feels nice to try and handle your dots. I definitly have a lot of fun using it.
But then again, so far i only did Some WQ as affliction and only one mythic. So maybe the opinion Will change.

It has been almost a month since I created this thread and by the looks of it, it has gotten some fair popularity and comments (mainly from raging warlocks, but other people as well). I want to thank everyone for continuously discussing and raising your voice about the current situation of our favourite class.
I do have to add on a few stuff (again mainly my opinions on the subject, hopefully backed up with evidence and proof).
- We have now seen everything that will be hitting live with the release of patch 8.1 and 8.1.5 (SoD raid) and I want to stress of a few things. First off we do see some targeted PvP changes with the return of Demon Armor and a flat 10% stamina increase. While this does seem like a good change in the right direction, I still cant help but to think it will simply not be enough. Stamina itself is generally overrated and quite useless on a clother that gets critted for 70k+. The Demon armour is surely gonna reduce these numbers and help our survivability, but warriors/rogues/DHs will still kill us within a single stun. What I mean to say is that the problem is not stats or health. It is fine to be squishy as a cloth wearer (not looking at you Mage - a billion shields/Ice block - feels like plater), however bring back our mobility/utility. Why was Demonic Circle , one of our key iconic abilities made a talent? Why is Shadowfury having cast time? Just why? Our only mobility is a self-damaging movement buff that must be taken instead of a defensive CD, while our only heal is a HS and a god damn useless Drain life. Why??
- Okay moving forward on my subject of expertise (as far as I can be called a warlock main for 10years) - PvE. The new patch will bring ⊠exactly nothing for us. I cannot be more disappointed. Surely we got this âamazingâ changes to a system that is so flawed that it basically ruins the motivation of people to get gear - AZERITE. No more BiS lists, no more targeting items you want, no more control over tier sets/artifact abilities. Sure we get the new vendor and a new ring but the problem stays. Every single azerite trait is simply proc dmg/proc buff/reduce cd. Where is Ultaeshâs ability and why was it taken away? Where is hands down best lock ability - Destro artifact portal that shoots dmg? Why were we stripped down from the things that Blizz so hard tried to implement in Legion to push class fantasy? I now feel once again a 3 button smasher. Perhaps I am too salty - but understand this - warlocks are boring, dull and average on DPS at best. We dont exceed in anything but burst BL dmg on a few Uldir fights. Not at PvP, not at PvE, not at M+. Damage is surely fine sometimes even good but that doesnt make it fun and enjoyable to play. On top 8.1 adds only 1 âaverageâ trait and that is for Demo that is the worst anyway. No gameplay/rotation changes for Affli or Destro, leaving them where they are now - at the dumpster.
And finally and more probably the whole reason I started this post is - ZANDALARI WARLOCKS. I want to point out something many have been saying for a while - Blizzard if you are not going to let us be Zandalari give us better explanation than âZandalari have no connection to the felâ. Please for the love of warlocks. It doesnt make sense for them to be monks (Pandaren and Zandalari are famous for their hatred and now they are best pals?), neither Kultirans to be mages (Jaina has lived and trained in Kirin Tor by Humans not KulTirans, so she just comes back and in 2 months teaches the whole island the specifics of being a mage?). Heck there are numerous Zandalari NPCs that cast corruption, fear, shadow bolt and what not. I know know, there is no Warlock Loa, Zandalari are peaceful and what not. Well guess what - not at all. We have been fighting them since ZulâGurub and ZulâAman, we have had Throne of Thunder, you cant tell me no single Zandalari tried fel magic (which by the way is not what warlock is - 95% of warlock abilities are shadow and fire, NOT FEL). To even add on top of that - you have your Hearthstone game that is just introducing Loas for each class INCLUDING warlock in the face of Hirâeek the Bat Loa as well as warlock champion in the face of High Priestess Jeklik. Now she might not be Zandalari, but considering Hirâeek is in BFA as a quest mob and its considered warlock loa (I know I know for a completely different non-cannon game called ⊠Hearthstone, Heroes of Warcraft) I dont see how Zandalari cant follow and praise him âŠ
Please Blizzard understand the frustration many of us are experiencing especially on the last subject, that was your selling point for the whole expansion promoted for nearly an year, when you suddenly dropped us this bomb, made a bunch of inconsistent stupid decisions and destroyed us. Keep being load guys, express opinions and make Blizz do something, even if that is deleting the class.
i played today demonology warlock and the issue cameback with the hard cast. I need to cast too much things to maintain my dps but there are many mechanics where u need to moveâŠ
wont be anything significant change until we hit half expansion,maybe next christmass,like in legion.But yet again even then playstyle was dumb&simplyfed&boring ,now its even worseâŠ
They didnt fix demos in legion on any patch why they would do that in bfa? Ion decided to kill demos after WoD he would rsther not play demonology warlock.
