Last night me and the guildies split into a few groups and had genuine fun laughing on discord, clearing delves and having a rip roaring bash.
Now, looks like we cant do that and have to go back to sweating it out in Mythic +
We wanted a nice chilled alternative to Mythic +
Lower the rewards instead of hypertuning the health and damage? This could have been brilliant, a change of pace to GOGOGOGO of time dungeons, a nice relaxer or just something less intense…
They were too easy scaled for 2-3 players. Like half the healthpools of mobs comparable with solo-players. Then you can only debate if it was too hard for solo or too easy for groups.
Not everyone wants to do hard stuff all the time. Last night doing a T8 in a group felt great. I admit the reward was too much for easiness of the content so lower that reward for group play maybe?
Dont wanna be always against a timer in this game. Wanna relaaaaax and chill with online fam.
I already have 8 slots with Champion gear.
After 3 days. Compared to how it was in past expansions for a player like me (no mythic content, PvP or raiding beyond LFR) that’s an insane speed. In DF s1-3 I could get a piece of champion gear for the Timewalking weekly, 1 piece from a world boss if I got that lucky and that was it. It took months to get multiple champion.
I’m actually worried that I’m going to be done way too quickly now.
Thankfully there’s enough other things to do for me still (renown, professions and such), but that’s going to stop later on in the expansion.
I don’t get these types of complaints.
Delves are not perfect no, not by a long shot, but in terms of rewards they’re better than solo and world content players ever had (maybe not s4 in DF, but that’s a special case and not the norm).
Tbf, we can do lower than T8s for lower rewards. The playerbase has tunnel visioned T8 because youtube told them anything less is worthless trash.
OTOH, right now, scaling appears to be properly busted to the point it can’t be intentional. Seeing people say they get melee swings over 2 million. That’s not avoidable and it’s mostly impossible to survive.
I mean… the problem is that the group scaling is still off, just in the other direction now. It’s got nothing to do with the rewards structure and the solo difficulty levels are fine for the rewards on offer; an 8 feels like a nicely-paced challenge for a solo player in the 580-600 range. But you take a couple of buddies in and suddenly an 8 becomes a death machine.
I’m in ilvl 600 and I’m happily soloing 8s with one or two deaths, but just tried to 3-man one with some guildies and the mobs were 1-shotting any non-tank with unavoidable abilities. We were out of revives by like the third trash pull. This was not the single-player experience scaled to the group size. It felt like going from like a 7 key to a 15.
Don’t change anythingh about the solo experience and look at the scaling again.
603/610 and 616 in the Vault was too good for how easy T8 delves were in groups. It was nice to get gear for free like that, but it devalued other content.
Of course now they over-compensated and T8s in delves are a total pain if not downright impossible in some cases. As a ranged dps and healer, I don’t enjoy soloing T8 delves at all (I did two T8s solo as a healer).
If I wanted that sort of solo challenge, I’d play Dark Soul games.
I agree, this was sold as a feature for solo players and yet the absolute best way to do them was as a conventional group.
OTOH I don’t like reading stories of absurd auto attacks and web bolts hitting for millions in T8s… unless being the recommended ilvl 600 somehow gives us 20m hp, it’s clearly broken.
