Delves should be solo content only

Listen…
The guy you initially responded to made the point that making gear from Delves so easy to acquire devalues all other gear that is comparative.

That is a fair point.

There’s no reason for someone to do LFR week after week if they can just farm Delves.

And for the people who don’t intend to progress into the higher difficulties of various endgame activities, the gear from Delves will be the de facto best gear they’re going to get.

And because that gear is so easy to get, then it devalues the worthwhileness of all the other content at that level of play, like LFR and Timewalking and Reputation and such.

LFR was never there for you to gear up and Delves are way harder than LFR.

Are you disagreeing with the point about Delves undermining other gear or are you just nitpicking?

I don’t see anything wrong with Delves undermining said other gear. Heroic Raids aren’t endgame, they’re basically the ‘good player’ difficulty. They’re often pugged.

I had more difficulty soloing T8s than I ever did in a Heroic raid when I was Mythic Raiding. For a Mythic Guild, Heroic raids are a joke.

Mythic Guilds are a tiny minority.
Active guild players also are a minority.

Imo most WoW players are solo players.

But why would anyone do LFR, Heroic Dungeons, Mythic0 Dungeons, Timewalking raids, farm reputation for the gear rewards, or craft Profession epics at a similar quality, when they can just farm easy Delves in a group?

Like, if your goal is to get good gear, the path goes through Delves now. For some that’s the end point, and for others it’s a stepping stone toward higher difficulty content.
But effectively the game has narrowed down to level up to max → do Delves. That’s the path everyone will take from now on, because it’s a fair superior path to gearing up than anything else.

Because Delves loot are limited by keys, because upgrades require stones, for transmogs, because LFR can drop tier and Delves can’t.

No. Mathematically this doesn’t add up. I had 11 keys going into this week. Even if I was lucky and had all 11 drops on different slots I’d still be missing pieces.

Every serious PvE player is doing Delves + Raids + M0 this week.

It is obvious this thread is full of people who see this as a cheap and easy way to get another row of M+ tier vault choices, by cheesing it as a group, and are reducing the ask it is solo only so they dont have to put in the same effort as solo players to fill that row with decent options.

Oh, that sounds interesting.

Can you link the math behind this?

Scroll up?

Right.

And every player who isn’t serious and who doesn’t do Raids or Mythic+ Dungeons, is just going to be doing Delves.

And in the coming weeks when the serious players move on to Mythic+ Dungeons and Mythic Raiding, then the players who aren’t serious will still just be doing Delves.

And they’ll have Heroic blue gear and a few pieces of 606.

And they’ll be 15 ilvls behind?

As they should be?

Why is this an issue?

Also the average schmuck isn’t doing T8s. They’re pretty difficult.

If they’re easy as a group they need to be made harder.

If you open up your group finder and pick Delves and look at the PuG groups people are making, they’re mostly for T7 and T8, which means you just need to clear T6 solo - which is quite easy.

Right. That’s kind of the discussion of the whole thread. I mean…

Well no, your problem seemed to be that Delves give Heroic Raid level gear.

My experience with T8 soloing as Havoc has been pretty brutal so I have no issues with it.

No. My problem is that it gives a lot of it quickly and with relative ease.

I don’t mind that Heroic gear is available through Delves. But the acquisition of it has to be balanced relative to the other gameplay activities in the game. Just like Blizzard have had to balance Mythic+ gear rewards against Raid rewards when Mythic+ was initially introduced, so neither activity became the de facto superior option and cannibalized the other. Balance is the key word.

I don’t enjoy pugging with strangers. Way too many toxic people who go crazy if someone doesn’t know the perfect route or isn’t running through at the speed of light.

Delves gives me an option to get the equivalent of M+ gear by myself, which is a really good thing. I don’t care if others are doing them in groups and are getting the same gear whilst grouping - as long as I can still obtain the same gear from the same content while solo.

What isn’t a good thing is that the same content is infinitely easier as a group, so why would anyone do M+ dungeons, when Delves are quicker and give better loot? Therein lies the imbalance being able to do Delves as a group has caused.

My worry is that Delves will receive a nerf in gear quality because of this - to make them less attractive for M+ players.

That’s because they were never meant to be the pillar of solo gameplay.

Its an activity which can be done in solo or in 2-5 group with your friends.

Its not Blizzard fault you have no friends to do them with . But they are soloable for people who refuse to Play MMORPG as MMORPG

And they shoudl balance by making m- and raids drops much more loot.

Or lets remove weekly lockouts from raids changing them to daily lockouts which can be extemded if peopel choose to progress

Liek hoenstly - its 2024 - all Blizzard Has to do is liek double drops in m+ and raids and let people have fun reducing the toxicity tied to loot being sparse

Its time to shake up the ancient RAID loot mechanics which are only reminder of bygone era from 10-20 years ago

I’m not Mr. Wolfe. I don’t fix problems, I just point them out.

But clearly the intention for Delves was that it would be a somewhat slow progression to the higher tiers that players would make incrementally over time - at least the people that Delves are intended for.

But what has happened is that people are now doing the higher tiers almost immediately as they hit max level.

I feel pretty confident that Blizzard will make some adjustments because of that, but we’ll see.
