Demon Hunter for Void Elves and Nightborne!

They’re the equivalent of Blood elves and Night elves, and we only have 2 races that can be DHs, so what’re you waiting for?? Give it to us already

Also, how about Nightborne Druids and Void elf Shaman / Void-themed Paladin?

We need Forsaken Druids and Tauren Rogues first. We’ve been waiting longer for those.

Wait, we have? :open_mouth:

I have heard about peeps requesting Forsaken Paladins but not druids

Tauren rogues would be so funny :joy:

Forsaken never struck me as a nature loving race. They literally gas and burn every land they invade. I’m still curious how the Tauren are silent about all this

Tbh if they are going to add 2 races to demon hunters I would personally rather it be outside the elven races.

Demon Hunter should go to Draenei and Orcs. Both of these races have dealt with the legion first hand. And, it would be cool to have red Draenei and red orcs as a result. I mean the Green skin for Orcs already matches.

Ah you beat me to it.

Yes!

We do herbalism just like everyone else. Nature is a neccessity for a lot of things.

I mean… if it was that simple everyone would be a Druid.

But I personally don’t care so long as class/race restrictions get removed all together. Otherwise, lore comes in.

I wouldn’t call gathering herbs for your next strain of blight as particularly nature loving.

Tauren rogues exist. They are soo good that you can’t see them.

There are many tools available for maintaining the balance. Sometimes you have to get creative.

if their skins are red I’m cool with it. And massive wings. That would also be cool

I’d much rather new Demon Hunter alternatives that offer a genuine choice to players. Orcs would be a perfect choice for the Horde and probably Draenei for the Alliance.
Void Elves and Nightborne would just be lazy.

And can we please knock it on the head about Void Elf Paladins? Once again, a Void Elf Paladin is a contradiction. A Void Elf cannot become a living avatar of the light because when the light and the void interact they explode, that’s what caused the Wow version of the big bang.

Yea but maybe a large dose of Void energy would cause an explosion, but not if it was a smaller amount. Alleria didn’t explode when she came near the Sunwell, she just got pushed aside. Either way, they can always do something similar that they did with Blood elf paladins in TBC and make Void elves enslave a powerful elemental for its power to be shamans just like blood elves did with the Naaru to be paladins.

There is a difference between being near a source of light and actively taking it inside oneself, and being near it nearly provoked catastrophe anyway. Void Elves pretty much have all the classes they can be that is consistent with the lore.

Blood Elves are light orientated. They can be Paladins. Void Elves are Void orientated and cannot. These two forces are diametrically opposed and frankly the void-light dichotomy is the big divide between the two races. A Void Elf Paladin makes as much sense as an Undead Druid.

If you want an Alliance Elf Paladin, argue for a Night Elf Paladin. It has precedent and makes sense. The demand for a Void Elf Paladin is an indulgent call for Blizzard to further rubbish their own lore and I’d much rather they weren’t encouraged to do that more than they already have.

Probably not. They’re getting their blonde hair, next demand on the list is paladins followed by renaming to high elves.

That’s less an acknowledgement of the rightness of that and more of a reflection of the complete panic engulfing Blizzard as their playerbase deserts them over other, far more important issues and their desperation to do anything to win them back.

Nevertheless, a Void Elf Paladin is an absolute contradiction of the lore. Blizzard giving in may give them cheer should it happen, but for the rest of us it should serve as a clear warning that Blizzard has no respect for their own story. But we aren’t at that point yet.

Let’s hope this topic doesn’t completely derail though.

To reiterate, no to Nightborne and Void Elf demon hunters as that is the boring option.

Yes to Orc and Draenei DHs, as they offer the possibility of new models and a more interesting approach.

True, look at the Fel Orcs in Hellfire, and we faced a lot of eredar that gave in to the Legion in that expansion. It makes sense for them to take on their sworn enemies’ power to fight them, much like in the case of night elves.

Of course we better not cover lightforged and mag’har with this, even if both of those races can be DK’s, another ‘evil’ class that doesn’t quite fit them.

Ok I see some false information here. When and where is it stated in the lore that Blood elves are light oriented? Prior to the Sunwell’s purification, the only path to the power of the Light for Blood elves was the Naaru they enslaved. Once purified, the Sunwell was a source of arcane and light energy, but not only light oriented.

I ask you this. What would happen if Blood elf paladins who decided to join their Void elf brethren on the Alliance begun to study and slowly infuse themselves with some Void energy? If it’s a small amount they won’t necessarily explode. They may be able to withstand some of that void energy, effectively turning them into Void-themed paladins, who use a mixture of light and void attacks, similar to how Discipline priests control both light and shadow energies.

The golden eyes and the fact they are chowing down on a source of light energy makes them light orientated. And the arcane aspect has been slowly de-emphasised over the years because the Horde has the Nightborne for that. Not saying it’s not present or not a big part of the Blood Elves, but the light clearly predominates.

As for your hypothetical,it doesn’t make sense. The light is absolutist and Paladins wield the light with the grace of the light. They’d soon be denied the blessings of the light for consorting with the void. Just as Nobundo lost his ability to use the light once his body was contaminated by the Fel.

What you are asking for does not make sense within the context of the lore and is an attempt to deny Void Elves are what they are, Elves defined by their connection to the void.

I say again, if you want an Elf Paladin, agitate for a Night Elf Paladin. A void elf paladin does not make sense, and a Blizzard who acquiesces to this demand is a Blizzard who clearly has contempt for their own story and whilst it may cheer you, the wider implications of that attitude would be deeply worrying.
