[Demonology] New Xpac - old bugs | Demons

                           Demons

1. Non prime/main demons

  • Tyrant, Wild imps, dreadstalkers, vilefiend, Felguard (grimoire of Felguard), demons from Nether portal and Inner demons talents cannot be controled by demonology warlock at all. This greatly reduces efficiency of demonology in any form of dynamic content AKA PvP.
Issue exists from early alpha of BFA

and look at how easily UDK controls all ghouls via pet control panel

    • None of these demons has “avoidance” Passive which makes them easy target for any AoE.
Issue exists from early alpha of BFA
  • Fel lord HP pool doesn’t scale with HP/IlvL of Warlock. I have 199 Ilvl, and 34820 points of HP summon Fel lord with 11791 points of HP, this number doesn’t scales if i equip more powerful or weak gear. This means that in the next patch this ability will be useless, because Fel lord will die instanty from AoE damage.

    • Fel lord doesn’t have “avoidance” passive, which makes him easy target for any AoE.
Issue exists from early alpha of BFA
  • Fel lord damage is caped at 5% of max HP of the target before that damage will be lowered by armor, versatility and other damage reduction abilities/spells. which is counterintuitive design choice, because core idea of Demonology apart from summoning demons is empowering them via mastery and Tyrant, and damage of Fel lord cannot be increased by any means.

  • Wild imps from “inner demon” talent still exist only ~15-20 seconds out of combat, while imps that was summoned via Hand of Gul’Dan exist 40 seconds out of combat
Issue exists from the Pre patch of Shadowlands
  • wild imps from “inner demon talent” can start attack your previous target on their own, even if you no longer attack that target, has stoped all hostile acivity. This creates the situation where these wild imps will keep demonology warlock in combat.
Issue exists from beta of BFA

The only demon you can’t control is the tyrant. The rest of them change target after a few spells have been cast. It’s not ideal, but it works for now.

It doesn’t work that way. Initial target needs to die or become untargetable (feign death).

It’s frustrating in arena because if opponent pops, let’s say for the sake of the argument, turtle, your Tyrant will continue to hit into that. You can cast 10 spells to healer but Tyrant wont change its target. Imps too.

It’s more frustrating with Feign Death because with that, your pets actually, usually, start attacking Hunter’s pet.

It is particularly bad in fights such as The Council of Blood. When Dutiful Attendant makes Niklaus immune to damage, your entire army of demons will keep hitting to Niklaus, you can’t change target to the add.

Need to add though I saw Dreadstalkers change target (with the way you describe it). Not sure how come they do but others won’t is also weird.

Dreadstalker, Vilefiend and GFG all change target. Imps used to attack whatever you cast Hand of Gul’dan on, but they don’t seem to do that any more. The dreadstalkers are much faster at target swapping now than they used to be.

It BS and not control. If it not controlable directly like DK does, then it is not control at all.

Try GFG again

Just tested it and you’re right. It used to change target o_O
