Destroying a Quest Item

Destroying a Quest Item

Anyone came across that destroying a quest item automatically abandones the connected with it?

I understand this was done for convenience, but sometimes it’s just necessary to get rid of that one Murloc head for another piece of shiny loot, even though the related quest is on the far side of the world.

Since it’s a convenience, wouldn’t it even more of a convenience to give a player the option IF he also wants to abandon the quest.

I also found this annoying.

Sometimes you don’t want to abandon a quest, you just need a bag slot for a while. Hopefully they’ll change something to either not make it automatic or give you the option

I thought this was from an addon (namely Leatrix plus)?

Nope, not from an addon. It’s standard now.

Thats kinda yikes. Little oversight from blizzard id imagine. Hopefully they’ll make a work-around for it.

I hate this feature. Also, not vanilla.

It’s annoying as hell, and was definitely not a thing in vanilla.

Does this happens on all quest items, like drops too?

Or just with items that quest giver gives you to do something with them(delivery or usage at some location).

If it is the latter, then I would say that it is working as intended.

Couldve Creeped in, when in doubt bug report

Definitely a bug repair needed!

I thought it’s Blizzlike behavior that aligns with the reference client. If it’s not, it needs to be reported as a bug and fixed.

Sometimes inconvenient indeed for the reasons OP described.

Yes, anything marked as a quest item, including random animal parts. It bothers me because, as others have suggested, I sometimes am willing to drop the first quest item for loot and come back to it later.
