It was never implied that we could enter each other’s cities safely.

Once in a party together, members of the opposite faction will remain unfriendly while in the “outdoor” world (and fully hostile in War Mode!),

Alright mr worldwidewinner :sunglasses:

Fantastic start Blizzard, just one thing, if you’re gonna make the vast majority of content cross-faction why not go all the way and make guilds cross-faction as well? At this point it feels inevitable, so why not pull the bandage now and make it happen.

Another move away from being able to interact and talk to people in the game world which you then bring into dungeons. While still technically possible, it is now even more convenient to just use the group finder/LFD/LFR.

In fact the game now gives so many favours to using these GUI tools that I would argue that calling it an MMORPG at all is extremely disingenuous, and you should stop using that term. It isn’t one.

In a sentence, this extends all the problems we have with CRZ to factions as well.

Why, oh why. Oh why…
Also, the biggest reason people go horde is for guilds and the friend circles around them, just the same as why people leave underpopulated realms. Well guess what, you didn’t fix that, so the Alliance exodus will continue.

This solves nothing. It makes everything worse. The only upside I can see is I can play with a bit more of my friends list which used to be like 90% alliance and is now 80% horde, so that’s nice I guess.

Amazing news! I think that the leaders (Thrall, Jaina, others) working together means WE (the players) can do the same.

Well, I’ll go human again.
After 11 years finally…

they should all merge, thrall and anduin, sylvanas and tyranda, lorthemar and velen etc yeye

And why in the absolute Hell would you do that?

Got a guild? Got a purpose there? Or do you just like your ears shorter and that’s the entire reason?

I’m inclined to agree with him. So, yeah.

Faction affiliation could just work similar to how free covenant swap does in the present, if blizz would really want to make all the things fully accessible.

Maybe in due time.

Aesthetics maybe?

I’ve been playing Alliance again for quite a while even though I have no guild, I’m just mostly doing m+ pugging. I just couldn’t stand the horde races any more.

Well congratulations, now you’ll either have to make your own key every time or still run into horde aesthetics constantly in the form of the other players.

Hard to say how glad I am this has finally been announced! :smile_cat:

And I am sure there will be cross-faction guilds in the future. Think for a moment. It makes no sense to have cross-faction guilds if is not possible to make cross-faction groups in instances, but it is possible to make cross-faction instances without cross-faction guilds. So, this does not fix guilds NOW, but it is the first step needed to do it. And given how much bigger change it is I totally understand why Blizzard will choose to only complete in the first patch the minimum required to have cross-faction. Just because there are things that won’t be cross-faction in 9.2.5 does not mean it won’t be in future patches.

Well, idc what races other people are. I wanted to play lightforged draenei as paladin or night elf as druid or priest. I don’t really like blood elves, trolls are okish but night elf is far better.

But it’s not really like he needs to be concerned about others being horde
he will benefit in end game content and he can play what he like
i never was fan of blood elf or tauren paladin
but i was stuck on horde just because there is almost no other option + pool of players in m+ was bigger
this change will make it so i can play whatever i want and still have same opportunities as horde players in m+ while pugging on alts for example

We’ve had cross-realm groups for over a decade but not cross-realm guilds in all that time.

Thank for a moment.
