No because i started this character as a human and i want to change it back. It’s my first character ever.
I still can raid and m+ with my guild, that’s what I mainly do with them.
So why should it bother you?

You’ll have to leave that guild. Though they’re still on your friendslist, the achievement, the banter, the guild chat - all of that will be gone because you want shorter ears.
Is it worth it?
People still use the guild chat in WoW?
In FFXIV the free company I’m in the FC chat is rarely ever utilized and people just use discord.
Yes, cause we mainly communicate through discord?
Imagine that, maybe little bit hard for you to understand.
Edit: also, a cross faction community is possible. So just create one in addition to the guild.
Yes, obviously? If you didn’t use guild features there’s no point making a guild at all.
Jesus , how dense can someone be…
This should extend to guilds!
Cross-realm guilds do not make any sense without cross-realm trade, which would require a cross-realm AH, something I don’t believe the AH system could handle.
Meanwhile, for cross-faction, there is already a merged AH and a merged economy, so there won’t be any change in the economy if there is one faction or two.
Thank for a moment.
Thanks for this good news !
I hope that in patch 9.2.5 there will be the return of “new customizations” for the void elves (we haven’t received any new hairstyles etc…) and the other allied races who have still not received anything.
Great question.
You literally have no idea what you’re saying. You’re literally just conceding that guilds are worthless and to just run everything over Discord.
The issue here is we’re talking about WoW’s social systems, and your solution to everything is basically just “lol ignore the MMO let’s all just chat on Discord” like this is League of Legends or something.
Why is it, every single time Blizzard does anything that can provide identity and uniqueness and social circles to be built in the open world, they have to muck about and mess up simple things and then we end up in a situation where the whole bloody game world gets torn down because “uhhh I guess that’s convenient” and now, finally, they killed factions because they just can’t figure out how to keep realms and factions even enough - doesn’t even need to be even just even enough.
What’s left?
Factions are dead
Covenants are dead
Races are dead
Character appearance is dead
Armour appearance is dead
World is dead
Levelling is dead
ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING IS DEAD. Everything, everything! is being sacrificed on the altar of “well that’s convenient for my M+ groups” after failing to notice for over a decade that there was a fundamental and often easy to fix flaw that caused all of these problems.
I genuinely cannot comprehend what this community and company are doing together. Of all the possible ways you could implement cross-faction play this is the way they do it. If there was ever any doubt that they don’t understand MMO’s this will surely dispel it.
So what? To any of this? They literally just came out and said it wouldn’t be possible, and they did it deliberately, purposefully. And their system handles cross-realm auction houses, that isn’t even difficult. In fact it would quite surprise me if it doesn’t support it under the hood given it’s a datawarehouse and cloud infrastructure they’re using. They’d literally have to put in special effort to make it not work - which is basically what they’ve done and any IT architect would make this simple gameplay limitation just that.
More than likely the tables simply have a column about the realm the item is listed on and the query filters out the ones you’re not connected to and that’s literally all it is.
just ur opinion dude, the faster you get that the more braincells you’ll save, and it looks like there ain’t many left so better get it fast (I agree with some, but you going overboard)
It all makes sense now, I can’t spit on you anymore!
People exaggerate SO much how bad the balance is. It’s ike 35/65 ally/horde but the way they talk about it you’d think there was actually just 4 ally players like you say.
This is fantastic news, I’m so happy and so excited to see this coming to the game. It will solve so many issues, people will be able to play the race they prefer and still get to play with their friends and guildies. It’s lifesaving for Alliance guilds still playing high end pve content.
Guilds with a guild on both factions and a community encompassing both will be great.
I can’t wait !!
Have you actually seen the top of the PvE ladder? It is literally 90/10. I know in more casual circles it’s not that bad, but it’s plenty bad, and Blizzard had a decade of warning. This started in Mists of Bloody Pandaria and they just did nothing about it at all and now they’re just putting their broken mess out of its misery while simultaneously creating even worse misery along the way.
Calm down drama karen.
Guilds are not useless, just because people can finally play the race they want.
You are overreacting in a way that makes me laugh.
I just imagined you like this dude who screamed like the world dies when trump got elected XD
Can someone link that gif please?
You make the same mistakes many rookie developers had made over the years on my work (and mistakes I made myself when I was starting). Think that just because the change is simply the code, it is possible to do it. No, it won’t.
Probably you are right, and the realm is a column on a database. Probably the database queries the AH data filtering with the realm. It would probably be as simple as removing that part of the query on two queries, one for the search and another when a player buys an item. I would change it in less than 15 minutes if I knew the queries.
It will work in development realms. And it will work on PTR realms.
But it won’t work on Live realms.
Once the database searches for all the AH items on it without realm split, and all buy/sell queries are done over the same items because all the realms are combined… the database will collapse just in minutes. It is impossible to segregate the data in multiple databases because AH can not be distributed. If I search for the cheapest item X, it should search among all records because there is only one that is the cheapest; if it spreads the auctions, it won’t return to correct values.
Just because something is simple and would work with a small amount of data does not mean it will escalate well to big amounts of data and still works.
This is a good change. Now just add cross-faction guilds as well please.
Yes. Any class that can be a mechagnome, will be one. Others will be Dwarf and Kul Tiran, except for my DHs, who have to be nelves.
Sigh. Time to unsub I guess. I don’t want to play with gnomes.
