Did any 1 get warning bann for a simple addon?

i got a warning just read for the first time it said this is my third final warning for using mapster, its like an ingame System message not a tell.

Without a screenshot or something else to guide me here, I would also take a guess that it’s possible you have been trolled by another player using the ā€œ/eā€ or ā€œ/meā€ emote, which lets the person write whatever they want and may be misinterpreted as for instance a system message. This happened on the first stress test where everyone thought the servers were going down, when in fact there was only a player in Stormwind trolling with the emote.

I would also take a guess that if the warning was in fact a legit warning from Blizzard you would either get an in-game mail about it or more likely an e-mail on the e-mail your account is registered on. If you haven’t got any e-mail about this incident I wouldn’t worry at all.

any account action would be sent to your e-mail, outside the game.

Additonally, the Mapster addon does not break any rules, and is safe to use.

As I remember, players can make messages with some text that will start from other line and look like different message. For it need to add many spaces between first part of message and second. We used it to troll guild mates.

I didn’t know that addon had a revival, I used that all the way up to Wrath I think in the original game.

I can’t imagine why that adding would break TOS.
I would guess a troll message like other posters have said above.

provide a screen if you speak the truth.

i cant provide a screen now i reloaded ui as soon as i saw it . (disabled)

I did just look up the addon and it is safe to use and more so add-ons like this were very popular on its time. Defoging map and having cordinates is as old as this game.

The addon removes the blank of unexplored areas called the ā€œfog of warā€.

Blizzard are clamping down on these types of addons, I use questie and haven’t gotten one.

Nah he didn’t get a real warning, it was a player trolling him.
If it was a genuine action against his account it would have come in the form of an email.

Tbf addons can only do what the Classic API allows them to. If it’s breaking any rules then it’s doing so because Blizzard gave them the tools to do so.

do you have any evidence of claims like this ?

screenshots / blue response or didnt happen.

you can send messages with line breaks and different colours in it, which can make it looks like somebody else is sending the message. People used to troll with it in vanilla aswell like.
[guild][yourcharname]: woah calm down\n[guild][guildleader]: no screw you all I’m disbaning the guild, noew!!!1!

I belive the removed line breaks at one point but with most people using default chatwidth and font you can still get creative with spaces :stuck_out_tongue:

The LFG Addon is being blocked soon.

While that is true, they also announced it way beforehand.

If an addon that reveals unexplored areas (by legitimately using already available APIs) is also something they would like to not see used, I expect them to make a similar announcement first.

As for the OP; like other posters have already mentioned, any action taken against your account for use of ā€œillegal addonsā€ would be directed to your email and not ingame.

it was not a player i got a message through the addon.

Did you not post recently that you have been permantly banned?

no that is not me what the hell?

Ahh sorry, my bad both your profile picture and name is super similiar to someone the other day. Sorry my friend.
