I don’t want to make it long here BUT… I know the PRO players will hate me now, but I hate world buffs. I’m a casual player who wants to log in do some raids and go off. I hate when I’m forced to farm world buffs for raids what are easy, 15y old, everyone know exactly what to do and even without world buffs ist easy. It takes only a little longer, that’s all.
So my suggestion? When you enter an instance, remove all world buffs. This is an easy fix, no balance needed. Just add if(enterDungeon) { removeWorldBuffs() };
You will make most people happy and some HC players unhappy probably.
I just want to play classic and do fun stuff, this thing with world buffs is a disaster in my viewpoint.

I don’t want them gone, but would be interesting if warcraftlogs could separate runs into categories of with world buffs, and without world buffs. Would be interesting. Unless they already have that function and I just haven’t found it?

I personally help other people to do raids without wbuffs by dispelling them.

I might be wrong, but, I am certain I read that wlogs will have an own list for raids without wbuffs as well. Ergo speedruns without wbuffs.

Nothing pro about wbuffs though.
So my suggestion? When you enter an instance, click off all your world buffs.
Find a guild that isnt so hardcore

I hate world buffs but when I played classic I agreed to the standards my guild set and followed it. But do I think they are stupid? Absolutely. Would I go out and get world buffs if they existed on retail or even back in 3.3.5? Absolutely.

I like world-buffs because i play on a pvp server and the drama around those buffs is very entertaining. It’s very satisfying when you can kill enemy players on the way to their raid and free them from all the buffs.
Last Sunday we had the whole server waiting for the world buff in SW and the npc got sapped by some horde rogues. DENIED xD
Main reason I don’t like world buffs is that our raid gets attacked in BRM, we lose a few people and all they do during the raid is moan about how low their dps is or what not.
What can you do… xD.

@OP: Fat chance wbuffs are here to stay alas. They did promise us “warts and all”, after all. It does suck that the meta deviated so much from what Vanilla was back then, but unfortunately this is a consequence of the fact Vanilla changed a lot more than other expansions throughout its tenure and wasn’t min-maxxed to the same extent.
I’d suggest you to wait for TBC, where we won’t have to deal with this wbuff madness and the meta will be a lot more similar to what we experienced back in 2006-08 since min-maxxing already existed in full force back then.
You must feel so skilled, standing in Org at the right time to add a buff icon next to your minimap.

I don’t care about world buffs. I clear content without any, so I like to contribute to real life by staying offline, instead of running around like a headless chicken, asking when the next buff drops.
Oh, and my guild and I organize mass dispelling of said buffs just to teach people a lesson.

Yes, if you scrolled through the first 20 posts:
5 about premades/pvp whining
5 about world buffs
5 about instance caps
2 about bag slots
1 about faction balance
3 about locked servers
the problem are the world buffs not always available such as dmf and so on.
however world buffs are essential to wow classic, without them world pvp is pretty pointless and griefing becomes harder. No world buffs you might aswell make pvp realms into pve realms
everyone hates world buffs ESPECIALLY the pro players
no one wants world buffs in raids.
