Did blizzard test Borgast and the Maw

I haven’t met many people who actually enjoy Borgast & /or the Maw, with most views being negative about each. So I have to wonder did blizzard actually test these areas out before launch, was feedback listened to or was it ignored.

Because from what I see both areas aren’t working they seem to cater for the few not the many and it would be nice to hear from blizzard about their views on this and if they are going to implement any improvements.

I dont relay like the maw, bearly do it, thorgast is not to bad, well I like it on my shadow priest, I can actualy survive something, but on hunter (BM), I realy do not.

Maw would be fine, if they removed the eye of the jailer, it only serves to stop you from doing to much, what is silly, when you cant even do all quests at times until it is so high you have to bail. instead they could have capped the stygia if that is the problem.

i love torghast

Torghast was extensively tested during Torghast.
The maw was not.

I love Torghast, I do hate the Maw though.
I don’t understand what people are looking for from WoW’s combat if they don’t enjoy Torghast.

I don’t mind torgast as long as I am with friends otherwise its just boring and sluggish as heck. But I truly hate the maw and I haven’t bothered doing any quests (apart from covenant weekly) for weeks.

Me personally I enjoy torghast but despise the maw feels like a really bad Argus 2.0 with the added problem jailor molests you throughout your time there and worst thing of all no freaking mount to move around what was Blizzard thinking i guess they weren’t thinking at all actually xD.

I love torghast, for me that is the best solo content in game so far.

I don’t know that is a big mystery I’m trying to decipher myself.

Mine aswel but limited to a class for example I’m having issues with it as a mage I’m so squishy and most boses heal themselves it’s nuts and fire dmg is too much it needs to be nerfed hard for caster classes.

I find it too lengthy to solo, same thing floor after floot after floor with rng powers thrown in I find it reptative and boring. I don’t mind it in a group because then I can chat with friends who are as unstable as my good self.

Personally I quite enjoy when Huntsman Altimore summons his add, Torghast, and all the anima powers that come with

Yea, it definitely is different from class to class. I can only speak from my PoV, which is playing on Warlock.
Even from me, it all comes down to which anima power i get. If I dont get power that increases my pet HP and damage each floor for 100%, stacking up to 500% and + some anima with HP and damage boost, im sure i wont be able to complete floors above 13.
So in order to make Torghast fun, anima power must be good. Otherwise its just a pain in a.

I agree it is a pain in the a when the run doesant give you the adequate anima power and you are immediately crippled for the rest of the run.

I quite enjoy The Maw. It’s a nice solo thing for me. The music is a bit too bombastic, which is probably my biggest annoyance. Otherwise I quite like it.

Torghast depends. Some of the wings are nice and fun, and others are not. I can’t remember the name, but the orange wing with the platforms and teleports and such…worst one ever.
Quite like it otherwise, as a weekly activity.
I feel like there’s room for more replayability. But perhaps it’s also fine if it’s just a weekly thing.

I think both are excellent expansion features.

There is no real guile involved in Snoreghast. You can either overpower it or you can’t. Back in Classic I used to be able to solo Scholo but it took everything I had in terms of gear, consumables and skill + it was a rewarding experience in terms of loot.

I have found it to be completely trivial with some specs and a pita on others that have + 20 ilvl.

Meanwhile bm hunter can do entire torghast without anima powers. Twisting corridors without any specific anima powers because it’s broken but on the other hand doesn’t even have any fun anima powers.

I can’t stand the rewards, the features, the boredom, and the utter waste of my limited playtime that are both The Maw and Torghast. It’s fine: I’ve loved the questing, the instances and the scenery. It’s been fun couple months with this old friend of a game. See you all next xpack!

Torghast was extensively tested both in Beta and Alpha and was WAY MORE RNG and WAY LONGER than in its current iteration. And many people still loved it.

You whiners should be grateful that we get this super nerfed and short Torghast as compared to an infinite climb with random broker floors (There could be a broker every 2nd floor or you could go 10 floors without a single one) and more Anima Power RNG.

They are both not my cup of team. But sadly for progression they are mandatory. And that is not fun. It feels like a chore you have to do and it sips out a lot of fun from what I would say a really good expansion. Love the raids, love the Dungeons but Borghast and Maw are just glorified weeklies that give you items.

  • Less repetition
  • Better variety of mobs
  • A change of scenery
  • No RNG
  • No crappy borrowed power system (I level and gear up my character but I can’t clear this stuff without boosting myself from sparkles? JFC)
  • Some kind of reward
  • A purpose for being there beyond collecting ash or something idk
