Hello everyone. I am wondering if you had the option to change your Race/Faction back in the days when TBC was released.
Really looking forward for these options to be added.

No idea about faction but I know there wasnt a race change. The addition of Blood Elves and Draenei was significant and they definitely made a decision to force players to reroll from level 1 if they wanted to play them.
Most probably that’s what I’m planning to do if Faction changes won’t be available 
Google says WotLK for both.
Well, if that’s the case I guess I’m playing for nothing at the moment…

No it happened in WOTLK. Faction change was a big misstake by Blizzard, because after WOTLK, they nerfed Alliance Racial very hard and the fall of Faction Imbalance started, and then majority of non-RP players transfered into Horde.

So… If I’m looking to play Blood Elf, should I wait until TBC is released then start playing again?
We don’t know yet, but the response is probably yes. It’s not a big deal, enjoy Classic time and if TBC is released without possibility to transfert as Bloodelf, just make a new char. On TBC release the 1-60 is really fast to do because of patch 2.0 that change lot of thing in the game/class balance, and you will never be alone because lot of people want to play Blood Elf.
And at least, you don’t will see zillion of Blood Elf, only the guy that put some effort to do the 1-70 leveling.
TBC may never be released. Classic has just launched. Play it and enjoy it.

My main problem is that I rolled Alliance because all of my friends wanted to play Alliance and about 4/6 already quit WoW classic, so I’ll either delete my entire classic work or I’ll have to start on a fresh server.
Guess I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Pick what you want to play. My friend is Leveling his third lvl 60. Not much to do in game at the moment.

@Rifleman Get a grip mate. I didn’t insult you in the first place and it’s up to me what I like to play or not. Just for your knowledge I am a new player to WoW, never played retail nor Classic. This is my first WoW experience and I’m already seeing salty/triggered kids like you.

In past in Retail mostly all my characters was Blood Elves because i love elves in other games as well. I don’t agree how Rifleman is writting but my idea is to roll a Blood Elves (maybe unlocking Void Elves, they are simular to Blood Elves but is on Alliance side on retail.)
Don’t mind him, and good luck on your journey (don’t betray the alliance though, there are too many hordes anyway). Blood elves have a reputation, at least on private servers (and I am fairly sure on retail as well) so people tend to bully blood elf players a little, some of them overdoing it. Also classic, to my surprise, seems to be more toxic than any pserver I played, I have no idea why is that. But still, you can find plenty of chill people both in game and here, so you will be fine.
No it didnt, i remember when i started in TBC i made a dwarf hunter got 60ish and hated it but couldnt change to Nelf, so no.
