Dire Maul is crap for pets

Seriously did Blizz even test this crap?

Pet pathing is completely broken in this instance, pets go different ways, get stuck in places, teleport, have no paths available in a huge room

what a farce, even vanilla a game 15 years old wasn’t this bugged and broken

Pets are useless in most of the dungeon and actually a huge liability

Good thing hunter pets have never been a liability before when hunters do jump skips without removing the pet first.

it’s not about skips. your pet ends up running circles on flat ground, same thing happens to the bosses.

I can believe you… we had the weirdest half-dungeon pulls and no-path-available charging today :stuck_out_tongue:

didn’t use to be like that in vanilla…

These pet issues have all been introduced in this version, mostly because of their crappy engine.

Yeah I had some real “dafuq?”-moments when i did DM yesterday.
Pet simply not finding a path on a wide open floor, and running around in circles for a few seconds before engaging happened several times.

And as someone who played Hunter back in vanilla, I can for certain say that this was not an issue in Dire Maul back then.

I had an issue where i sent my pet to a mob, and wanted to cancel the command and it just wouldn’t listen. It went to the mob and stayed there. Nothing worked.

I couldn’t call him back to me, and after the fight it just teleported back again.

Pets so buggy that im hoping the fix for Corrupted Blood doesnt work and someone can reproduce the plague

fyi the circular room you are most likely referring to. With the purple tinted core hound (who’s name eludes me) has ALWAYS had these issues. In fact. Even today in BFA will hunters get gimped to shiz because their pets just stand still or take some weird, long route.

That room certainly has issues, but it’s not just that place.

I’ve had my pet go all the way around where I wanted it to go outside of there. Or just get stuck in walls or weird places.

That room is the worst though, might as well dismiss your pet there.

Hunter (and warlock) pets behaved like this throughout all of Vanilla. Small passageways, ramps, stairs and doorways confuse their path finding algorithm, and DM, having a more intricate design than the release dungeons, is full of those.

It has been like this, and you claimed that’s what you want.
So that’s what you got: “WoW Classic, warts and all.”

Never had these issues this much in Vanilla, sure pets were a bit finicky, but not to this extend.

Pathing for both NPCs and mobility skills like charge are definitely not working as they did. Classic wow has so many bugs, it’s actually crazy.

I think pathfinding in general doesn’t seem to be working well.

Often times scripted NPCs will repeatedly walk against an obstacle only to abruptly jump to the other side, like in the Winterspring escort quest in the moonkin caves. In other occasions they simply take paths that make no sense, zigzagging or moving back and forth.

Same with mobs. For example in the Grim Guzzler if you pull Plugger with or without the mobs surrounding him from the adjacent room and move out of line of sight they will not come directly to you but instead will go towards the tables in the back, pulling pretty much the whole floor. If instead you walk backwards slowly they will follow you, showing they have a problem finding the route around the corner (possibly caused by the platform Plugger stands on).

Even if any of these problems already appeared in Vanilla (which I honestly don’t know), they are bugs and there’s no reason for them to be there.

Does seem off, 8 ninja pulls from the hunter pet last run lol. Been running dungeons with the hunter none stop for the last 3 months, never seen him ninja pull before DM.
