Hello there,
I am trying to remove the motor loop sound of Gnomish mount (Mechanostrider). The audio file is supposed to be called MechaStriderLoop.ogg. I could not find any addons that remove this. All the few years old WoW forums topics suggested adding the Sounds\Mount\MechaStrider\MechaStriderLoop.ogg as a blank audio file, this did not work either.
Anyone managed to disable the annoying motor sound loop?

You can disable it by creating a folder structure that corresponds to what you wrote there. You have to create the sound, creature and mechastrider folder. That will definetly silence it.
In other words create an empty file called MechaStriderLoop.ogg and put it in \World of Warcraft_classic_\sound\creature\mechastrider

I can confirm this worked. The mistake I did was I had the folder names \sounds\ instead of \sound.

Wait, can i use this to replace the rogue stealth sound when they sneak nearby with something lowder, more audible like the wsg flag pickup sound or something?

It even kept the awesome walking sound of the strider and only silenced the annoying buzzsaw like sound.
I might be the only one but i have no sounds folder in my game folder, id love to find this or have any help as i literally hate the noise coming from this mount.
