Well said. It’s like a generic forest/jungle zone, like a standard leveling zone or something. Bad lighting, bad texture, nothing that stands out. Does not have the dream vibe at all.
They have the exact same problems for the exact same reasons.
Zaralek Caverns also has bad lighting due to refusing to use any dark at all even inside a cave. It also looks pretty grey, though in that case it’s intentional, and while it doesn’t create the lorelol it really does start to beg the question of how many lairs Deathwing had, exactly.
The main benefit of it is that it didn’t disappoint, since I had no prior knowledge of it.
The gameplay in the two zones are quite different, yet both fail to create engagement and progression.

I really enjoyed the first exploration of the zone, the look, theme and story. As a Nelf balance druid main it felt on point.
The gameplay though…seeds seem literally about standing around for 3 minutes. Paying a subscription to wait around. The quests don’t reward enough rep so I only do the ones with specific rep rewards. I’m at Renown 16 and want to ge to 18 for the rune but have no real other motivation to be in the zone. Quests seem bugged too often or annoying (keeping going to an owl to get a buff to find a cinder creature yawn)
Hadn’t thought about sub zones, but you’re right - you’ve got the fiery invaded bit but that’s it.
A beautiful zone with interesting story behind it, but I actually looked forward to Zereth Mortis every day. The chase for the rares there was more fun too, and everyone seemed more enthusiastic about that zone.

That’s the biggest offender. We have Fyrrak invading the Dream, but “here plant some seeds”. Really bad open world activity, and wPvP hub must be the worst out of all the ones that came before it. When the other zones become spark zones lag happens due to how many ppl do PvP. When ED is the spark zone almost no one PvPs most of the time. …

They didn’t even put rousing/spore herb, mine nodes in Emerald Dream. People are still farming those in Zaralek Caverns. They have put new skinning rare Elusive Verdant Gladewarden in Emerald Dream but new embelishments are so bad designed, people are still farming Obsidian Cobras in Zaralek Caverns. It’s like Zaralek Cavern 10.2. There are some mounts, reputation grind for rune and that is it. No need to visit the new map once you are done. People used to hang out together in the newest zone and we used to have more content with new patch.

There are two additional mucro patches at least, so more content will be included soon bit still I agree that ED is a bit underwhelming.
